Sammon did once,and Hammond,and Higdon.
Personally I think Lafferty is very, very limited and suited to a back 4 RB role.
He rarely keeps play moving forward as a WB,usually stops and plays a reverse pass and his crossing is usually crap.
He's not a bad player but I think we can do much better for a LWB.
Agreed

I'm getting pissed off with nit-picking posts about Moore. He's the best keeper we've had since Kenny, and why any Blade would want to undermine his confidence is beyond me.

Get off his back. Posts like this spread across social media like wildfire, and the last thing we want for the run in is have a decent player in the most volatile position in the team have doubts about his game. He's doing just fine and is lightyears ahead of Long and Howard.

We have a few problems to tweak but Moore isn't one of them.

Don't think it was a Moore error. Sometimes deflections leave you stranded as a keeper and it's tough luck. Far more important is how much bottle we showed to be playing under those circumstances, get set back in such a cruel way, and gather ourselves well enough to go on and nick it. Can't understate that even if it was one of the games of this season better left forgotten.

I don't know what to make of Lafferty. So many times he does something very nearly great and instead a huge waste of the ball. Keep thinking it'll come off for him and he'll play a blinder, keep being disappointed. The 3-5-2 puts a lot of pressure on the wide men to be both key attackers and defenders and while I give them a lot of leeway I can't help but think if we could get a real quality player on either flank that it would take us that extra step forward. Can you imagine if Freeman or Lafferty had better crossing? We'd be a cut above.

Moore couldn't do anything about that goal, can't blame him at all. For me, Lafferty should have kept the ball in, he didn't even need to launch it downfield as there wasn't a Coventry player near him.
I couldnt concentrate and I was sat on my arse watching it
Same here. It was horrible to watch, I haven't been so tense & nervous watching a match for a long time. I'm sure all the neighbours heard me when Sharp got the winner!!

Another vote for Moore. When I played my team mates used to be in awe of the superb reaction full length twisting in mid air saves. I would say that they were the easy ones. It's the mishits and deflections that are the problem because half your game as a keeper is anticipation and positioning. Just try moving forward, setting yourself slightly to the right, weight adjusted for the shot and then finding in less than half a second you have to adjust your head and eyes to take account of a different trajectory and speed to the ball and at the same time adjust stance, weight and then back pedal at speed. Another thing. In a fast changing situation you can't guarantee being in the optimum position by a couple of feet every time.

Absolutely spot on.

I did say on another thread in Lafferty's defence I thought he, just for a split second stopped as though he heard a whistle. He then briefly turned to look at the ref before going over to take a throw.
With all the whistling it can't have been easy

Bullshit. Keeper positions himself for the shot and it loops up miles in the air, no way is Moore to blame for that. He's a good keeper not fucking superman.
Sorry!

My post was my initial reaction having not seen the goal back, i've now seen the goal back and it is quite clear that he didn't have enough time to get himself back on the line as I stated in my initial post so after all the counselling I've recieved from the bullshitery unit am I alright to continue as I were? :)

Edward Woodward was better

Seen some on here saying Moore could have been better positioned but I am sure he would have covered it except for the deflection .
What was more annoying is that Lafferty could have cleared the ball before they got it as he let the ball go out for a throw in which allowed them possession and subsequently scored . Why oh Why do they do that ? Clear the bloody ball and they dont get a chance !!

I thought number 15 could have done better as well

Watching the goal back, I thought EEL could've done a lot better just standing the bloke up who took the pot shot at goal which looped in, he just let him walk past him.

Poor play, but we mustn't slate anybody because we won.
