Whoever came up with the Couttsy song tonight deserves a season ticket for life...

On and onnnnn (?)

On and onnnnn
He never gives the ball awaaaaayyyyy

Sounded brilliant.

How Coutts isn't even been mentioned for the Scotland squad is beyond me. Strachan just seems to pick the same lads every squad, irrespective of results. How is John McGinn of Hibs ahead of Coutts and Fleck?

He'll have to leave, it worked for Murphy by going to Brighton..............oh wait a minute.

We can argue till we're blue in the face but I assure you it's our centre mid is Couttsy, friend of mine cobbled the lyrics together earlier this week

Whatever, this could just be one of those melody selections that grow into a supporter classic.

Usually most chants bore me senseless, but this, due to the EW&F song, rises like a Phoenix and gives the terraces the same quality as we're now seeing on the pitch.

Great choice!
Phats and Small remix ?

Is that a little in the know reference there? The brass section for EW&F were known as The Phenix Horns.

Little known fact. I used to play in a EW&F tribute act.

You know what, there's little I imagine you haven't turned your hand to musically mate. Loved Maurice White, a real talent and such a sad loss. Good times at the moment with Wilder at the helm, but as ever being healthily cautious as we push forward.

As an aside, just bought a best of Tyrone Davis cd plus a few jazz or jazz inspired albums - including Matthew Halsall, "On The Go" plus Trombone Shorty, "For True" (superb track featuring Ledisi on this).

That's strange because all around us were singing "Paauull is second name is Couttsy, Paauull we brought him in from Derby, Paauull he never gives the ball awaaayyyy!"

Strange how we've had three different versions all at the same time. Our version is obviously the best. :)

Now that we've entered the golden age of disco songs to widen our repertoire, I do hope someone can do something with Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive".......

Next I want to see the best selection of afro wigs supporting the 'musical' geniuses who seem capable of fitting great lyrics into established classic melodies.

Okay. Apologies. It's just that some won't contemplate any song that any other team has sung, ever. Rather restricts our repertoire and unnecessarily so.

I never use words that anyone else has used before. I'm original, me.

I met Troy (Shorty) when he was a teenager aspiring to be a great bone player. I was doing a fill-in gig with a very well known orchestra at the time and he quizzed us all for ages about technique and stuff. He was some player then.
