When he orchestrated that little spell of keep-ball at the end with the "olés" ringing out around the ground...magic.

Yep. My favourite moment from today.

If we can keep our midfield and back line fit, and add a striker in January, I think we have a great chance this year.

He broke his leg near derby

But he never gives the ball away

Loved the fact that he communicated it to the others , a true talker and calming influence.

A player the others listen to.

I’m so pleased that he’s come back looking sharp, and confident, and brimming with self-belief.

After the way he struggled on return from his last bad injury, this is great news for us. It probably says a lot about the environment created for him, and for the squad in general, by Wilder and Knill.

Happy days, indeed.

In all seriousness he looked well off the pace today. Thankfully this season we can afford him time with the quality we have.

Considering he's been out of action for 12 months, it's not surprising that he's starting slowly. The more minutes he gets, the quicker he will return to the maestro we all know & love.

I’m growing a little tired of the ‘Norwood is an upgrade on Coutts’ Brigade. Let’s stop this here and now. He ain’t. He’s an excellent player and a delight to watch but he’s not the Roller.

Why we have to argue who is the best of four excellent midfielders I really don’t know. We are privileged to have them all at the same time. Not so long ago we had Montgomery and Doyle. Nick fucking Montgomery and Michael fucking Doyle. Choose your favourite STD.

Just enjoy them all. It really doesn’t matter that Couttsy is easily the pick of the bunch.

Showed his quality even though not at 100% - not doing this type of thing is partly what killed us off last year after his injury. He is so good at slowing it down and controlling the game in the latter stages to secure the win. Long may it continue :)

Nice interview with Coutts on the o/s.

He speaks well. Future managerial material perhaps?

I'll said what I said as we faulted down the stretch Season: we miss his leadership as much as anything.

Norwood is great, but Coutts is a vocal leader and its no coincidence that no sooner is he returned to the team but we suddenly start closing out games and not conceding daft goals late on.

He did give the ball away though.

Im afraid you are a heretic and therefore need to be burned at the stake for that comment !!
as its coming up to Halloween and bonfire night you may be excused if you make many comments between now and then that Coutts is a Blades deity and could not possibly have given the ball away ...... have you not heard the song ? NEVER gives the ball away ?

Contrary to blades myth, the facts of the matter are this.

He won't go on and on.

His name is not couttsy,

He wasn't on a free from derby,

And, occasionally, he does give the ball away.

1,2,3,4!

Tufty always praises the Roller for his off-field contributions. He’s CW’s vice-captain and clearly a leader on and off the pitch.
