Was really disappointed with his performance tonight, we were always going to miss Ward's pace after he went off but Cotterill created very little and didn't look a threat at all.

I wasn't impressed with Cotterill's performance, thought he pulled up short when he should've plowed on through. Losing Ward changed the whole game for us, and not in a good way.

Cotterill will have to take his chance now that Wardy is going to be out for about 6 weeks...gutted for Wardy although he sounded quite upbeat on the radio..

Cotteril gave the ball away time and time again and let slip good possesion and chances. He was responsible for their secong goal. Not his best game by a billion miles.

Whether he created much or not, he was a constant menace down the right flank, and often had two defenders on him.

If i've got a fault with him is that he never looks to take the defender on the inside. If he did so then he could bring the fullback in to the game more and exploit the space left left by the two defenders on him.

Thought he put in some lovely weighted crosses and corners and thought his substitution was an act of small minded malice by Blackwell. I don't think that Blackwell has the necessary skills to manage such a talent.

Spot on Highbury he did commit a needless foul which set up their goal.He was a threat though he caused them alot of headaches and was effective in switching wings with Tracy .
Whenever Cotterill received the ball he was double banked.

I have to agree. He put in plenty of Crosses. His poor control cost us 2 clear chances though

"Small minded malice"??!! Crivens. I thought his substitution was an act of a manager trying to defend a one-goal lead by replacing a player who was offering nothing defensively with one who would. Oh, and waste a bit of time.

Either way, I'm pretty sure "small minded malice" didn't come into it.....

Towards the back end of the 2007/8 season Cotts combining with Beattie looked unstopable and I still think Cotts could do a job for us for years to come. That said I was a little frustrated with his performance last night. Some of his crosses during the 2nd half were poor after getting to the bi line he could have caused real damage but put them into the near post making the Swine keepers job easy. I also think he's too easily knocked of the ball but he is slightly built

Talking to pigs in the pub after last night and the 2 players who scared them were Cotterill and Ward ,they were releived when both went off and said noone has taken the piss out of Spurr like either of them before.
I thought the pigs only decent players were Tudgay and Gray.

he's like all wingers for me (that aren't snapped up by the really big fish). On his day unplayable, fairly often ineffective. I can't agree with the attack on Blackwell for it though. It was exactly the substitution I'd have made at that time. But I think given a run in the side we'll see what a player we've got.

If only Cotterill had taken a better first touch - as he bloody well should have done - then he would have been in oceans of space with just Grant to beat for 4-0 just before half time.

There is undoubted talent there, but he continues to be hit and miss from one minute to the next.

think cotterill is a great player.. best striker of the ball at the club and has the best first touch.. i thought taking him off was piss poor management.. there was an almost tangible 'oh no' from the wednesday fans every time he got the ball.. so what if he loses it.. he must be given license to do that .. he is trying to take players on and make things happen..
on the miss.. the ball took a bit of a spin off the ground (i was right behind it)..
if his play is so consistent it shows he can do it.. it makes you wonder why he doesn't .. another thing we all forget is that he is very young.. the bald head makes him look ten years older.

Surprised that Cotts is still getting criticised. every time he plays he gets an assist or 2. He is our main threat and always gets double marked so is stretching their defence. He tries to get to the by line and deliver crosses which is far better and dangerous than Halfords crosses of last season from somewhere between the penalty box and the half way line. Yes sometiimes it doesn't work but show me a winger that gets a cross in every time. Howe many crosses came in from the left hand side from open play. Cotts needs a run in the side but will Blackie give him that. Wouldn't surprise me if he brought Quinn in again and switched Treacy to the right, if he did I think that I will give up in despair and Cotts should also look for another club.

i think cotts did fine last night ward had a fantastic start to the game but thought we brought on a ready made replacement he runs at the full back and nearly always gets the cross in, a throw or a corner. Up the blades and all 18 in the squad.
