the simple reason is because blackwell gets on his back in training and he did the same with billy and thats from a player.

Really will be interesting IF he goes to see how he responds to getting a run in a team and probably working with someone who will give him some confidence.
Hear horror stories too on how Blackwell really slaughters him in training.
He needs an arm round him and injecting with a little confidence.
...and a firework up his arse. Another of that select group of players who was a superstar before he came here and will be a superstar after he leaves...
Had a similar arguement with this thread with my Dad the other day he rates Cotterill very highly, I however don't, I think he has amazing amount of potential
But when you're identifying that potential Beech, don't you feel it's a tremendous challenge for a manager to fulfill it? To compose a team and work on a playing style that can make use of his good attributes effectively? There's no debate about whether he's consistent or not, we all know that he is, but shouldn't we also be looking at variables beyond the player himself to explain why?

To be honest Beech, I see a player who will always struggle in a team like ours because of the direct nature of the play. No effective enough going forward or covering back.
Coming back to his actual performances though, he doesn't go past players like he should if he was an out and out winger, and yet he's quite easy to read for defenders if he was to play the Beckham/Bentley role with early balls. On the good side I think his play on losing the ball has improved a lot. He chases back and tries to support the defence. He didn't when he first arrived, but... still one good game in five. Promises more than he delivers, the ideal replacement for Tongey...

It might be because we dont accually play football. like when howard went to reading he say he likes the way that reading play football so he played better when he was at reading.Have to agree wonder why we can't get the best of out cotts.
