Costing us points

It’s no longer the fashion to have players on each post when defending corners. I can’t remember when it ceased to be a thing, to be honest.

But, for me, it’s probably cost us four points this season. Both Coventry’s equaliser a few weeks back and West Brom’s first goal yesterday would almost certainly have been cleared off the line had we had someone on the back post on each occasion.

Anyone else think we should revert to the old way of doing it?
I understand what ur saying BUT had it not been for some flukey a f deflection, totally catching Cooper put, we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation. Mad init?

This isn't very helpful(I realise) but there was a game (can't remember which) yesterday when a defender was standing on the line and he could have blocked a header from a corner on the line but ignored it - he may have been worried about handling it.
Was it ManUre v Scabs? Martinez stood on the back post ignored a looping header and let it drift past him and in off the post

That's the one - but it wasn.t a corner! Still don't know why he left it though.

Well for a start we give the attacking team an advantage by not leaving a small fast player on the halfway line, this would mean they have to keep two players back to cover him should the corner get cleared. I hate to see every player back defending corners the ball always comes back even if it is headed away or booted up field. We should always have a out ball option. If we did this the maximum number of players in our box for a corner would be 7 as one takes the corner and two cover the player we leave up field.
