Corners yesterday

JOC is great at winning headers but being on the back stick usually means he just heads the ball back into the 6 yard box.
Egan is a beast in the air as well but neither get many on target.
Even in the derby Bruce pointed out that our delivery was brilliant from our corners but we didn't really threaten from any.
Mix it up, why not? We have 10 players capable of good crosses so why not try some short ones.
We have good strikers of the ball so some getting pulled to the end of the box will work likewise.

We finally have strength and depth in everything we do. We can start to be even more unpredictable. Our free kicks have been for a while, it's good to see that our corners might be now as well.

That was a beautiful finish from JOC, who'd have thought he come finish like that?

we've obviously been doing a lot of work on the training ground, very impressive, reminiscent of Spurs when Anderton and Sheringham often used the same routine
on the corner for the goal, the bloke behind me, not a fan of the short corner, had got as far as " for fucks s..." when the ball hit the back of the net.

Had to smile

I'd just told Duffy to "Get off" when he turns up and scores. Loads of egg deposited on face from less gobby fans surrounding me.

Was a good strategy to employ given that the chances of winning balls in the air were minimal.

I was once managing a Sunday league team when we were 1-0 up and our centre mid looked knackered. I turned to my assistant and said, "he needs subbing or he'll lose us this one". Cue, great first touch, spin , 40 yard ball onto the CF's head and 2-0 win in the bag. Literally 2 seconds after the words had left my mouth.

These things happen :)
