Just wonder if any of the team just watched Crewe's first goal from a corner?
Not row z, not to an opposition player, not 300mph so nobody on the pitch get's the ball.
It's not hard is it to get a good/dangerous ball into the box?
Dare I say I'd accept 2 out of every 10 corners doing something rather than the 0 out of 10 ratio we're excelling at, at the moment.

we've been shit at corners and throw ins for years.. so much so that it hardly raises a ripple when we get one

Corners really shouldn't be difficult. Standard delivery should have a bit of pace and be aimed to be 7 foot off the ground somewhere between front post and back post, 6-8 yards from goal: perfect for an attacker to get some momentum on it. None of this floated corner rubbish, that's normally catching practice for the keeper. In addition, nothing here should be beyond a professional footballer.

Blackman could take a decent corner, when he put his mind to it.

i was always taught that the ideal spot was between the penalty spot and the 6 yard line .. preferably swerving away from the keeper.. the idea that the keeper doesn't know whether to come and take it because it is just too far out

Id have thought with Robson in our side we would do better on corners these days. Although I guess he can deliver a better ball from open play instead.

Robson could deliver a newspaper to your house better than he can deliver a decent cross from open play.
