Agreed , I think it was you and I who advocated his signing a few weeks ago. Harry winks must be on his way. You'd hope so Sits. But he was literally perfect for us in every way.

Choosers can't be beggars?Rearrange: "Be can't choosers beggars"
Indeed, I think he's a proper player. Can do a bit of everything and a real set piece specialist too.Agreed , I think it was you and I who advocated his signing a few weeks ago. Harry winks must be on his way.
Meanwhile we have 3 fit midfielders, 2 chronically out of form and 1 who wants out.
I'm glad you think they'll do thenWe do. We have 3 midfielders in a formation which requires 3 midfielders.
Maybe cope was a poor choice of word. What I was meaning is we dont actually need anymore players in. Unless we signed 1-11 a new team that is significantly better than what we already have, we are going to go down. Therefore is there any point in signing new players, they're not going to improve the situation. And really, would they want to come? Therefore business wise it might make sense to not spend any money that would be a waste, get to summer and reorganise then. It's not big enough to cope - if this is coping, then god knows what struggling looks like
Media: Sheff Utd are reportedly interested in Connor Hou....Agree, would take him in a heartbeat......bit sad however that we are resorted to taking Villa's offcasts as they use our scouting network to improve their squad....
If we could've agreed something permanently for next season then it's not a waste of money is it?Maybe cope was a poor choice of word. What I was meaning is we dont actually need anymore players in. In terms of squad numbers we have enough. Only JOC and Berge are medium term injuries, the rest should be fit in the next week or so.
No point in paying for Hourihane when Fleck is there, Osborn can cover there, and even Lundstram, would be a waste of money signing him.
Loan to buy would be ideal if it could be negotiated - Hourihane would be an excellent signing for the championship.Maybe cope was a poor choice of word. I understand what you mean. But he turns 30 next month, and whilst he's decent at Championship level he's no better than Fleck (similar age) and probably earns more. cant imagine we would be building a championship promotion team around CH.If we could've agreed something permanently for next season then it's not a waste of money is it?
Even a loan this season to ensure we wouldn't be the worst PL side ever would suit me
Or maybe he wouldn't want to come here - playing for Swansea is likely to be a hell of a lot more enjoyable for the next 6 months, and probably a better chance to showcase his abilities ahead of a permanent move there/elsewhere.

Villa: Soz not available

Dean Smith: That Hourihane must be a good player, can we look to sign him?
We wont be signing CH because he will want paying wages. We dont do wages.
People are wanting him because he's better than what we haveBlimey, I am surprised people are wanting him.
Sign him when we're in the Championship as he's a Championship player.
Touched a nerve there have I, Dean?Media: Sheff Utd are reportedly interested in Conor Hourihane.
Dean Smith: That Hourihane must be a good player, can we look to sign him?
Dean Smith: On second thoughts I already signed him and know the lad really well and I don't think he fits in with where we are now. This is unlike Ollie Watkins who I signed from Exeter for about 2m when I was manager of Brentford. He fits in with what I am trying to do so I think I will buy him again.
No one would have said that upto a few months ago.People are wanting him because he's better than what we have
No one would have said that upto a few months ago.
He ain't good enough for Villa, which means he shouldn't be good enough for us. He won't improve us.
Don't forget that for most of the last 3 years, we've been better than Villa with Hourihane in the midfield.
And a better chance of Prem football next season if Swans decide to keep him around.
Nobody wants to come near us with the football we're playing. Forget the scorelines, we're getting hammered most weeks now.
Nobody gives a shit whether you agree or not to be fair.I don't agree with the 'traditionally a bigger club' nonsense to judge clubs today......
But they're certainly a richer and better funded club.
Not sure Hourihane is really a signing that is exciting.
But unless this club starts shopping abroad, there is very little choice but to be stuck with players like this.
The main reason I would like us to sign winks Is just so we can give him the squad number 40Indeed, I think he's a proper player. Can do a bit of everything and a real set piece specialist too.
He'll be an asset, I just hope Swansea don't go up then we'll be able to blow them out of the water financially next season.
Ah, Winks, that's what we need
We don't know the full situation with Hourihane, or the money situation, or the majority of things that are relevant to whether or not these things happen. We do. We have 3 midfielders in a formation which requires 3 midfielders.
So you wouldn’t take Jack Grealish then?No one would have said that upto a few months ago.

To not have a single midfielder in the door at this point, Hourihane or otherwise, is a jokeWe don't know the full situation with Hourihane, or the money situation, or the majority of things that are relevant to whether or not these things happen.
Peanuts for a player of his calibre, in this day and age.A lot of teams wouldn't mind Olise, and his fee starts at £8m by all accounts.
So you wouldn’t take Jack Grealish then?
Him not being as good as Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley and John McGinn (oh and Brazil international Douglas Luiz) does not mean he would not improve us
