Great movement between Sharp, Sammon and Adams. It's the future.

If you want to get in the team, you're going to have to run the channels!

Stevie May always struck me as one

He is 'one'; he is a pig. Totally unnecessary pig reference that has spoiled a good thread,

As for Billy the Fish, I thought he looked a real handful and was unlucky to have the goal chalked off. He worked hard in the channels but also added much needed height at the back when we had the Alamo period of defending 87 corners in the first half.

Good performance and if he can play like that every week we will get plenty of chances for Billy not the Fish and Che Evans.

A very enjoyable afternoon, the like of which I didn't see much last season.

I saw you leaving the South Stand at FT. Have you defected there as well?

Yes mate, me and LS26BLADE have moved our season tickets from the Kop to the South Stand this season. I was fully amazed with how many people I saw on the South Stand who used to be familiar and regular faces on the Kop.

Wish I had moved to the South Stand 5 years ago, it's great to have an excellent view of proceedings.

That's called getting old. A bit like when I was younger when people used to say they preferred sitting down to standing and watching.

If you're over 6 foot and like a view of football, then the South Stand is the way forward. Moved about 5 years ago and now sit behind Jim. Just an added bonus after Friday :)

Yeah, that will be, plus I always enjoy a vantage point from high up where I can get a better overview rather than being down the front as well

Aye, its a great view. I had a season ticket in there in 01-02, forgot how good a stand it is. Plus I've got aisle seats, which makes getting in and out easier. Really enjoyed the experience of being back there yesterday.

Superb today, if he keeps that level of performance up Sharp and Adams will benefit with bulging onion bags.

I was impressed by Sammon and Sharp up front and this will be a formidable partnership

Does anyone know how many years he has left on his Derby contract? I know it's early days, but if he carries one with assists and goals like he's doing were going to want him permanently!

His Derby contract expires at the end of this season.

REAL men STAND at the back of the kop. Only way my ageing prostate makes sure I can get to the bog first

Can he be recalled or signed by any other club? If so we should just sign him up permanent for 100k - 250k ish

Don't think theres any danger of him leaving early. Theres no recall clause & players want to play for Nigel Adkins and Sheffield United (how nice is it to say that and mean it?).

If he's still playing like this in January though I'd like us to offer Derby a pittance, he won't cost a lot with there only being 6 months left and take him permenantly. Once we're at the end of the season his contact is up and it's a free for all.

I've just watched the Peterborough game, and seeing Sammon's contribution made me realise that any preconceptions that may have gone ahead of him should be banished. There's a footballer in that big frame, and the fact that he'll fight, dig in, make a nuisance of himself etc, shouldn't disguise the fact that we've now got a proper, old school center forward who'll make life difficult for opposing defenders, and in turn create chances for his teammates, something we've not seen for a long, long time. Like other posters, I hope we can sign Sammon to a permanent contract, as we're now looking to have players who can make a positive difference.

Loved his first goal, any doubts about what he can or can't do were forgotten in that moment. In the space of a few seconds he created space and scored an emphatic goal that was superbly taken. I noted that a report in the local Peterborough newspaper wrote admiringly about the Sammon-Sharp partnership in terms that were glowing.....something along the lines of the best forward pairing this division has to offer. High praise indeed, and I'll be the first to eat humble pie when it comes to Sharp's contribution, so far Billy's looked an intelligent player who'll give the Blades the edge they've missed. With young Adams having a predatory instinct, we've got goals in this team that Nigel Adkins has turned around. Gillingham apart (we'll put that down to an aberration, a bad day at the office if you like), the promise we've shown seems to have raised everyone's expectations, and with good reason.
