I think at least some part of why everything seems so dire at the moment (football wise, obviously the world is on it's arse) is because we're all missing a physical connection to the team. When you're at the Lane watching it's visceral, you're metres away, you can hear the players, they can hear you, depending on where you're sat, they can kick the ball at your face.
It feels like a group working together, you feel like you have a part to play.
Watching on TV is wank, necessary at the moment but wank, it's cold and detached.
I know they're a bunch of footballers and not celebrities but how about producing more personality stuff, groups of players doing Q&As with fans on Zoom so there's actual one to one contact, or fun little games like we've previously put out? I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and some will think it's a shit idea (and no doubt let me know underneath this post
) and are probably right but it might make it feel a little less like we're completely shut out.
