I used to work with a fake scouter (he was from Prescot) who put on a scouse accent in an attempt to look hard. Didn’t work, obviously. The first time I went to Liverpool (2004ish) I walked across the road from Lime Street Station into a shopping arcade (shops selling dry food in big bins that you scoop out yourself, that sort of thing). As I walked through I saw two blokes in shellsuits having a fight. If I’d not seen it with my own eyes I would have thought it was an urban myth.

I said this to someone else, but all the top teams spend stupid money, Liverpool have bought second you could argue having spent £140m on 2 players, in the last 2 seasons Man City have sold £130m worth of players, it's less than they've spent but it's not like they only spend.

They also have some key players who have been there ages, like Aguero, Kompany, Silva and yoofs like Foden and Zinchenko who cost under £2m and plays every week.

Guardiola inherited Pellegrini's superb side and spent 350 + million net on top of that. Klopp has spent just over 90 million net. How? Klopp inherited the shit show left by Rodgers, gained and maintained Champions League qualification and revenues.He's subsequently kept them in the champions league including reaching two highly lucrative finals.Player sales have also proved highly lucrative. Next seasons revenues will rise further at Liverpool due to their second placed finish. They will get a higher payment from the Premier League and a bigger slice of the Champions League revenues for each stage they reach..

Net spends: Liverpool 90 million.
Manchester City: 350 + million
Man Utd: similar to City
Spurs 29 million during Pochettino's reign..
Not sure on Chelsea and Arsenal but I'd be surprised if Chelsea's spending is not higher than Liverpool's

I really like Klopp - seems really relaxed but what a great manager. Used to love the Liverpool teams of the 70's and 80's with Dalglish, Barnes, Beardsley and Houghton. Not so much the spice boys era, but they play great football now.
