Despite what some are saying on here I think this is a good signing. Big strong lad, experienced at this level and coming into his best years. This could be a very smart signing by Micky, especially if he builds the lad's confidence up.

Nice to have another permanent player in as well. One that belongs to us for a change!

Why the big surprise or disdain? He's simply a makeshift Morgan whist the original Captain fantastic recovers (and thats not to be disrespective to Collins - or Morgan) but we've simply identified someone with similar (albeit not as well oiled) traits to our captain i.e. someone with a hint of controlled aggression, bravery, no-nonsense (please take note Nos!) and all importantly a voice and a bit of experience to a VERY young and naive back line.

By no means the best siging we'll ever make, and not one to please the fans or have them rolling in on Tuesday, but a very understandable, and reasoned move in my opinion, and, for what its worth....A PERMANENT SIGNING!!!...surely cause for celebration in itself!??

Have to agree with your every word on this one. An utter joke of a signing who we are saddled with for 2 and a half years. Doyle and Collins, what the **** is Adams playing at, just carrying on from where Blackwell left off. We are becoming a laughing stock taking players off other teams hands who can't wait to get rid, joke, absolute joke. Division 1 here we come.

In fairness the only laughing stock we have are some of our fans. I take it you want to get rid of Adams now - he has had a month now, so get someone else in!

At the end of the day the people who know what they're talking about are those in the game....your Micky Adams, your Neill Collins etc etc. I dont think they'll be paying much attention to the "experts" on here.

The lad Collins is now a Blade. Fellow Blades should get behind him and give him some encouragement. Just my view and I'm sure I'll attract abuse for it.....what welcoming supporters we have :thumbup:

I wasn't sure about Collins, I don't really know anything much about him and clearly not as much as you do.

I feel quite uplifted now, because we've really struggled to fill the gap left by Captain Morgan and Collins sounds like brother chip. Well done Micky!

Yeah, I really didn't think much of him, I remember being glad when he went.

But like I said I'll give him a go. He might be a rough diamond like Morgs was when we got him, experienced, similar age, tough lad and to please some, he's signed on a 2.5 year deal.... oh shite!

No you're right foxy he was solid on his debut and I've seen many similar performances from him which is why I'm content with this signing.

Collins had a superb debut ,man of the match but didn't impress too much during his brief spell after. A few more years playing at a decent level won't have done him any harm. It reminds me of the David Tuttle signing ,was unbelievably bad at the Lane playing for Spurs and nobody wanted him but looked a good centre half when he joined us.

Unfortunately this site is getting weighed down with people who cant wait to stick the knife in no matter who we sign or what we do ,its all becoming a bit boring.
