Imposing centre-back Kyle was another integral part of Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup triumph last season.

Having joined the Club from Bolton in 2007, the teenager signed professional terms at Arsenal last summer. The potential shown during an injury-hit first year at the Club really began to bear fruit last season as Kyle played all eight Youth Cup fixtures, made numerous outings in the Academy League and turned out 13 times for Neil Banfield’s Reserves.

Calm and controlling at the back, Kyle is also a threat in the final third. The 18-year-old nodded goals in the Youth Cup Quarter-Final and Semi-Final in 2008/09.

Sounds like a real player. Im sure I saw him in the cup for Arsenal. Has he played in the first team?

He's made one appearance for Arsenal and it was in the Champions League against Olympiakos so Wenger obviously thinks he can deal with pressure.

"Tall" "Quick" "Physically Imposing" is what ive read so far. He will need to be considering how much time the ball will spend in the air

On a positive note though, good signing - saw a little bit of what he can do in the CL game and seems to have good attributes. Will be a very good stop gap for Morgs. Needs to be thrown in the deep end tonight but he's captained his youth team and the reserves so he seems a strong character.

Feel a bit better about our defence now. Just got to get them in sync with each other :D

This does question the theory that none of the good clubs will loan their players to us. Is Arsene trying to toughen his players up after their defensive frailties have been exposed. Wilshire gone out to Bolton and so this kid to us. I wonder if Van Persie has recommended Morgan as a tough defender to help him cope with the physical side of the game?

possibly Copes, however we have a good record of 'producing' defenders, Jags, Kyle N and Kyle W have all come through the system. Plus Gary Cahill didn't seem to harm his career coming to play for us.

Now if Blackwell asked Wenger to loan us a midfielder I reckon the answer would be short and to the point!!!

Just contacted an Arsenal fan I know who follows their youth team closely. He really rates Bartley, very tall and quite quick. But for injury he would've played in the Carling Cup for Arsenal this season. He's not a product of their youth system as they got him from Bolton. Big Sam went nuts about it at the time he reckons, and having seen him play he can understand why. He played in the Champions League for them this season and is earmarked as one to step up should Eboue or another centre-back leave in the summer.

High praise indeed, thanks for the info.

I remember this lad from the CL game he played for Arsenal, he was very impressive. A bit impetuous at times which you might expect at 18, but very strong in the tackle and a good athlete. And being an Arsenal player he can pass a ball, but we'll soon knock that out of him...

Get him straight in;

Bunn/Benno
Monty (you knew it made sense !), Nyron, Kyle III, Kallio
Ward, Willo, Harper, Yeates
Evans, Cressy

I thought Monty did well on Saturday, but he's better used in midfield. I think the team will be:

Benno,
Nosworthy, Kyle III, Kallio, Stewart.
Ward, Willo, Monty, Yeates,
Evans, Cresswell.

Never bet against Blackwell playing Quinny though. He needs a game or 2 on the bench in my opinion.

Woah are you sick?

Bennett
Monty, Nos, Kyle 3, Kallio
Ward, Willo, Harper, yeates
Cresswell Camara

Subs: Geary, Evans, Hendo, Quinn and who ever else we can get from the list of cripples to fill the bench.

Best position I have seen Monty play is right back the last time was againt Sunderland in the cup (FA or League Cup? We won If I remember right) under Warnock and that was the only time I thought Monty looked decent.

I share that view. I was amazed Arsenal would want to loan a player to us, we hardly fit the mould. However, we can't do that much harm to a defender and if we toughen him up a bit it might stop Arsehole whingeing about his teams getting roughed up.

heh.. arsenes not daft is he?.. send his young cb to join us so that morgs can give him a course on how to be a hard nut centreback (something arsenal are sadly lacking imo)..
thing is will bootwell play him.. what if he can't kick the ball high enough in the air?

This is an excellent point, if there is one thing that the Arsenal back line need it is the ability to handle the physical battle. The move now makes a little more sense to me as i was wondering why Arsenal would send the lad so far away with so many clubs in and around the London area.

Perhaps his northern roots (of which i am assuming he has given his origins in the bolton youth set up) played in our favour too.

I take it all back BB, you're a chuffing wordsmith of the highest order man! ;)

Harper is still injured according to the official site. I think we have to play our only two pacy, flair players Ward and Camara. Geary hasn't played for a while and should be ok for a game.

My team:-
Bennett
Geary, Nosworthy, Bartley, Kallio
Ward, Montgomery, Williamson, Yeates
Cresswell, Camara
Subs:- Aksalu, Stewart, Fortune, Little, Quinn, Henderson, Evans

However, I think KB will definitely play Taylor, Quinn and Henderson.

Good signing in my opinion. He'll want to make his mark at this level to try and push towards the first team at Arsenal. I remember seeing him play for them on the tele a few months ago - although I can't remember much about him. Seems promising though.

THink Camara is much better as an impact sub, when the defenders legs are tired. I'd be chuffed to bits if i were if a defender and after being run ragged for for 70 minutes by camara, he got subbed for a slowcoach like hendo or evans.

finally some good news - fair play - well done blackwell.

It depends on the situation. If the defenders are struggling against pace and skill, we could push Ward up front and bring Little on for 20 minutes to provide the quality. If they’re not, it’s probably time to try something different with a big battering ram like Henderson up front. Then we also have the option of going 4-3-3 with Ward and Creswell pushed well up. I’d rather have 70 minutes of the defence being run ragged than 20!

fookin hell ............loaning players !
next we'll be loaning kit .
