The way I saw it was that he was the player on the pitch that tried the most to beat men!
Suppose it really does depend on your definition really.
A winger in my opinion should be trying to beat a man down on the channels, rather than trying to bring it inside/going down at the slightest of touches.
He lost the ball far too much, with primarily sloppy passing, when a run at the defenders would have worked better.
But to be fair, he was no worse than the majority of the polayers.
