Welcome Chris!!! Good appointment. But then I said that about Adkins so what do i know.

Welcome Chris & Alan.

Tactics are simple, rip the league a new arse. Auto promotion a must.

CONTRARY TO WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN SAID THE FANS ARE LOYAL AND ARE WITH YOU JUST DON'T BULLSHIT US WITH CLICHÉS

Welcome, Chris! :):):)

What style of football does he go far(I dont mean winning) I have no idea how Northampton or oxford lined up (hopefully not 442) I presume he is you play for the shirt type approach but can anybody shed some light?

Yes I can. Functional. Without style or flair. No aesthetic appeal and, most importantly, for the vast majority of his career, unsuccessful.

Everything I've read suggests he's tried to improve the standard of football - successfully at Northampton, more hit & miss at Oxford. I certainly don't see him as some sort of footballing dinosaur.

Cheer up, man. After Adkins's dire attempts at Total Football, there's plenty of room for Chris to improve things, at least!

Good luck Chris Wilder.

I'll back you for the long term and hope you're the man to take us forward.

I hope this basket case of a club doesn't ruin another managers career.

Good Pele, yes. Absolutely. The thought of Wilder's stellar career being besmirched doesn't bear thinking about...

They speak of little else in Halifax.

Why did you miss out 'unsuccessful'?

Heres a radical idea ,forget he ever came to Sheffield and support him ,its only a matter of geography after all.

Because It's the reason a lot of people are getting excited about a manager who has done very little to be excited about.

But for his Bladey credentials (which, contrary to popular belief, don't get you a single point in the league) he wouldn't have got the job and people would be reacting very differently to the arrival of someone with a long record of very little...

So, it's a big welcome to Mickey Adams II.

Do you have the keague tables for the other 14 or 15 years of his unremarkable career?

Nah, mate. But I can come up with Nigel Adkins's shocker from 2015/16 if you'd like.

One's a manager on the up, the other one's fallen off the bladeacoaster on his downwards slide.

So just give me the name of a manager who has a recent history to rival Wilders who we could realistically go for.

Congrats.
Kind of surprised to see you boot Adkins. But Wilder has certainly done the business with Northampton and Oxford on his route to yours. Think he builds decent solid units without spending too much.
Wonder if he has any players in mind to bring with him, either way, hope he get's the backing to rebuild at yours this summer.
Seem to think I can almost remember him playing for us (Brighton), so any ex-player of ours is a definite thumbs up from me!
Are you lot happy with this appointment?

Well mate ....... if you knew anything at all about SUFC you would realise that it all depends on whether he gets any backing ( real backing not talk ) from our tight fisted, un-ambitious Board !!

But ...... don't you lot take your eyes off the ball. Your DUTY to football is to smash the snot out of those fu**ing, lucky, arrogant, piggy bast**ds on Friday AND Monday !!

No excuses, no if's or buts ...... just do it !! :D

UTB & FTP

Not a matter which I've given any thought mate because I would have allowed Nigel Adkins, a man whose managerial accomplishments eclipse those of Tufty the Blade by a very long way, to carry on with the massive rebuilding job he was given three years to do. I would expect him, after a very shaky start, to have his act together by then and to deliver Championship football, playing the game the right way. What on earth makes you think Wilder will do what he did last season, as opposed to the manifest mediocrity of the previous decade and a half?

Adkins has been a manager for a decade, he's had 4 promotions, 1 relegation, was abysmal at Reading and a complete failure with us. He had pretty good players and overall set up at Southampton

Wilder has been a manager for 14 years, managed Halifax while they were going through their financial troubles. Had a promotion with Oxford and then sustained period getting them in the playoffs, and now he's just won the League 2 championship at a canter, with limited resources.

He recent record is good, which would show he's getting better as he progresses in his management career.

Adkins record is getting worse.

What exactly is your problem with Wilder other than him being a blade?? Surely thats a good thing, when combined with a decent recent record as a manager.

My problem is that he's being appointed precisely because he's a Blade. That is unprofessional and plain wrong. You get no extra points for being a Blade - ask Quickfix Mickey. He's a poor manager. Your unconvincing attempts at football alchemy don't alter that one jot. Your touchstone is on the blink, I'm afraid.

Suit & Tie or Tracksuit Manager?
I think he'll be hoping he can get himself a Blades rendition of this.
