Yeah it says Adams, Birch and Paul Cork gone, i wonder if alan has kept his job then?? lol!!

Adams' assistant Alan Cork, who was also appointed in December, has also parted ways with the club, as well as chief executive Trevor Birch.

So who's in charge of the appointments now then?

Birch going was no big surprise from the in's and out's I have heard from the club. His salary; his failure to broker any kind of new investment and the disagreements over the last appointment meant I would have been astonised if he was kept on.

Yep very surprising he managed to lure Roman to Chelsea.

Did he manage to secure any investment at all while in charge? Was he behind the 188 Bet deal?

Let's hope this bit is true. £400K per year in the third division takes some justification, and Birch has offered none so far.

I hope McCabe takes charge again. Actually, I hope he sells up. But until he does, I'd prefer the owner of the club to be the one to be its' public face too.

In all fairness, we could spend £400,000 a year on lottery tickets and stand more chance of bringing in more investment than he has. Alternatively, we could just invest the £400,000 we have saved if he has gone!

The guy running the Club from today is gonna be cost cutting and penny pinching, McCabe will hate it, that not his image.

A half full ground, with Hospitality struggling

And as a Multi Millionaire not what he wants to be doing, hence the reason for Birch and Steer.

He wont do it himself.

I'm assuming someone has cracked open Birchy's blue bin and stole one of his recent payslips in order to say with such authority what he gets paid?

Ah, different point. I doubt it too. I still would like to see it.

One salary in the accounts was listed at £250K and that was (apparently) only for a fraction of the a season.

It's fair to say it's a wage we can do without.

Ah, so more guesswork?

I'd prefer someone with an in depth knowledge on what individuals do on a daily basis for the football club to make the decision about which wages we can do without :)

Who would that be today ?

Yeah, but no matter how much he has been paid, he hasn't done a very good job has he?

Who would that be today ?

Absolutely no idea :D

But I'd personally rather it was a slightly more informed decision than....

"We think he gets paid far too much" + "the chief exec's only task is to bring another Abramovic" = "Get him out"

BUT NONE OF THIS MESS IS BIRCH'S FAULT!

FFS will no one actually bother pointing a finger at the twat whose fault all of this is or shall be blame the bloke whose salary we don't actually know. While we are blaming blokes on big salaries how about Chedwyns underperformance? I bet he is on more than Birch and has given about the same value for money. Or the shedload of other freeloaders attached to the club?

Or how about we just point the finger at one man. The one who took us from security to the abyss inside 4 years. McCabe is the one man that ALL accusations should be put to. He employed everyone after all.

Roman wanted Spurs and very nearly got it. Luckily for Chelsea they were on their arse financially at the time (hence having Birch in) and he got chelsea at a very good price compared to what Spurs and arsenal were worth at the time

No time to point, time to get things right. Leave the vendettas at the door. We haven't got time.

Yes and we continue to get things wrong but as we are in a hurry, what the hell lets carry on. A poor reason not to make him accountable for it all if ever I heard one. No vendetta just as obvious as the nose on your face.

You sound like a member of Micky's family

Trick Trev gone - Confirmed

[In the Short Term]

Birch steps down
Posted on: Wed 11 May 2011

Trevor Birch is stepping down as chief executive of Sheffield United - but will stay on as a consultant to the club in the short term.

The move follows the club's relegation from the Championship and the departure earlier today of manager Micky Adams and his number two Alan Cork.

Over the next two or three months, Mr Birch will assist the Blades with its player trading, as well as the reorganisation and re-shaping of the club.

Chairman Kevin McCabe said: "Trevor's considerable contacts and experience will help us as we re-shape the football club and focus on our transfer dealings."

Confirmed - Birch gone, (or going!)

Sorry, missed Housos other thread, please delete.

Interesting that he's moving on (or has been moved on) but is still needed as a consultant. I have thought we were too top heavy for a long time now especially in League 1.

We really need to get back to basics and have somebody at the club who knows Football just like Derek Dooley did. If you look at the decisions that have been made on the Football front since he retired in 2006 it's staggering.

So Birch has gone yet he's staying on to sort out player deals, re-organisation and re-shaping ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Is it possible Birch is staying on till August to help Pemberton with the ins and outs at the club. Pemberton lacks experience at that level

We shouldn't be employing a manager who needs the help of a highly paid consultant IMO.

If you believe the rumours, we've seen that McCabe and Birch have different ideas so it seems madness to me to promote Pembo who will obviously lean towards the youth side and then have Birch pulling the strings as and when McCabe agrees.
