Henry Winter on f h last night saying Wednesday cant be allowed to be run like this because they are one of the greatest clubs in in the world. I nearly choked on my tea.
Henry’s been at the cooking sherry…

The whole interview was a bit weird. It felt like he had just asked someone he knew who supported them for a few soundbites.
  • 2nd oldest club
  • Huge fanbase
  • Famous name
  • I remember watching Waddle, blah blah blah

Surprisingly I didn't hear him mention the Rumbelows cup, but he may have done.

Don't get me wrong, I actually quite like Winter. He is a decent writer and has given us (and the area in general) some cracking write ups when attending games at the Lane in the past. But to make a glaring error like that, is quite poor for such a respected journalist.

He can't even fall back on the excuse that he was referring to league clubs, because of current league clubs, Notts County, Forest, Palace, Stoke City and Wrexham are all older than the Pigs, and this is just in the UK.
just mentioned this on another post, the man just made things up.

Was literally just reading your post too, and dropped you a like :)

It was a very weird interview.

it was absolutely bizarre, I had to question my own understanding of things. the man has been on that Dudamel energy juice that they all drink

I remember when Brian Glendenning said Wednesday had never played in the 3rd tier after they were relegated a few years ago. It was the third time they'd been relegated to the 3rd tier in 20 years. It just shows how irrelevant they've been. Nobody knows anything about them so just guess.

Rohl is playing diplomat to save face.
Banen probably realises he made a mistake, tying himself to a sinking ship.

It is a sad time for any club to be liquidated, even them. I hope the find a decent buyer and soon.
I don’t, they wouldn’t think like that about us and would take great pleasure in it. I hope this is the beginning of the end for them.

Why didn't the radio presenter pull him up on the thing's he was saying, he just let him carry on chatting shit. I think they did not want to embarras him, they thought it was a big deal getting Henry on, then they realised he was clueless, and done no groundwork. But couldn't stop the show to tell him, embarrassing radio sheffield, embarrassing.

Well firstly I hope they don’t and are liquidated, genuinely, I want that to happen even though it won’t. But on your Bannan comment, I don’t see any mistake that he’s made. He’s got paid a fortune for ten years, is adored by a fanbase and has a very nice life in the city. He’s not delivered anything for them with regards to the clubs real aims in those ten years but been one of the better paid players in the Championship while being no where near the top of the league for most of it.
The lads played a blinder.

Why would they do this? He’s was there to talk about how terrible it is for them, and RS aren’t there to ensure he’s balanced. If he was making claims about Chansri that weren’t true then I’m sure they would have corrected him because it’s actionable, but when he’s just talking about the club it really doesn’t matter. They want the club to be hyped up because it elevates the story.

He’s basically got a job where he’s under very little pressure other than that he puts on himself as a professional.

He’ll always be one of the better players even at 36 and talking of age he knows the Pigs are not investing so unlike Norwood’s and Flecks, who we moved on and moved down, he’s still able to be at that level because of the club he’s at.

It has worked out well for him really.

But arguably wasted a potentially prosperous career🤔Or have Wendy wasted him I wonder.
As a youngster at Villa he was very highly rated.
Either ways not much to look back on.
His mate Brewster's achieved more in far less games🤩.

And the worst day of the week at that. The day that most people can't wait to get past, just to.get nearer to the weekend..

I dot liketosee any club go under. Even them. Many staff, apart from those on the playing side will find themselves out of work!
Despite his wages and lifestyle, Bannen hasn’t done anything with his career, and won’t win anything with them. Most of his time has been spent outside the championship, wasting what little talent he had.
Despite all that, I dont want to see anyone with a UB40, just because they picked the wrong club to work for.
