Good point Eck blade but i really rate Stokes. he's definatley a hot prospect, but maybe we should concentrate on getting a quality Left footed winger in.

Anthony Stokes - Confirmed

The Blades have agreed a deal to bring Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes to Bramall Lane on a 93 day loan deal.

Stokes, 20, a full Republic of Ireland international, is scheduled to go straight into the Blades squad for Sunday's first Steel City derby of the season against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The Dublin-born forward began his career at Arsenal and played for their reserve team at the age of 15 before enjoying a prosperous loan stint with Falkirk, scoring 16 goals in 18 games.

In January 2007, Stokes moved to Sunderland for a fee of £2 million and revealed playing under Roy Keane had a major bearing on his decision to switch to the Stadium of Light.

Boss Kevin Blackwell is delighted to have landed his man and is sure Stokes will be a valuable asset to the Blades during a hectic forthcoming schedule:

"He will give us more options on the left hand side, especially as we have got a few injury niggles. He has also played in the hole and gives us great cover right across the frontline."

Stokes will join fellow Mackem Greg Halford, who is also on loan at the Lane

Fair enough, makes sense to have the extra cover in, especially if there are a few niggles around!!

i would agree cover, but on the article it says hes expected to go straight into the team, hope he plays left winger instead of up front

usually do fairly well with loanees coming into the derby...

Bobby Bobby Bobby Davison!

The article doesn't say he'll go straight into the team.......it says he'll go straight into the squad, which is not the same thing.

Another good signing in my opinion. Gives us more options, in an area we're short on at the minute. We are currently short of strikers, with Webber playing left wing, Henderson being out and Robertson on loan were down to our last 2......so this signing gives us more options. For me the starting line-up on Sunday should be the same as that against Bristol. Kenny, Naysmith, Ugo, Killa, Naughton, Webber, Quinn, Speed, Cotterill, Beattie and Sharp. Bench - Bennet, Morgan, Howard, Dyer, Stokes.

Don't really know a lot about him to be honest. But we need a bit of cover up front, so a decent buy :)

He is a bit lightweight, also tends to go missing in games but has the ability to beat a team and score.

He is a little like a left footed Stead, seems to be used everywhere but where he can actually make an impact.

He may have been signed in order to give Webber a place upfront.

Just hope the judge is a Hibs fan!

Geez thread resurrection older than the dinosaurs !!!

I can’t for the life of me remember him playing for us. Did he play many games?

Played a handful of games in the season Blackwell got us to the play-off final. Looked shite but as WalthamstowBlade hinted at went on to be fairly prolific for Hibs and Celtic.

Another one with a hair transplant.

Getting popular with the footballers.

Noticed Shaqiri the other night has had one too.
I thought there was summet different about him , it’s a good one tho , wonder how much he paid for it ? Might have a whip around on here to get mine done , I was thinking summert from the 80s 🤔
