Over 60s. Er...not me. Over 50, yes.
The world changes. It's what it does and I don't rail against it in any way whatsoever. It'd be pointless and lead directly to premature old gittery. I'm aiming more for the George Carlin 'old fuck'.
I'm also aware that morals are quite plastic, constantly morphing and sometimes vanishing according to circumstance and the current zeitgeist. But there are some, a very few even, which underlie these and which to me are unchanging and hypocrisy is one of them. For an HRH of the Saudi royal family to come to my club and immediately begin the charm offensive by referencing its family club nature is just one of the things contributing to my angst. Most of all, I would be the hypocrite if I decided I could deny everything within myself which screams against this because it could signal the end of a downward spiral for the club I love. It's not change, LSF. No, it's not that at all. It's the direction it's taking this time and in this particular instance. Change is inevitable. Change in this direction is not.
No surprise that you're standing strong with our new investor.
After all, 15 of the 19 innocent men who were framed as the hijackers responsible for 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia.
Oh do fuck off.

Im not having a go here as I hate all the Premiership money floating about
if I were a pig on a blades forum pretend ing to be a blade thats exactly what id sayAre you going first?
I guess you are falling again for everything that KM says. When will the clappers learn not to trust him. If KM had the club at heart, he would of got this guy in yesterday and buy some players in the areas we really need. With KM, his words are meaningless.
I repeat again. What does 9/11 have to do with SUFC or our new investor?

Id also only come on after weve lost and vanish when we win

It a shame because I'm a blade on a blade forum. Maybe the forum should have a warning: "clappers only and you can only have a say if you believe everything KM says"
I'll see your princes and raise you some kings:
1- Elvis Presley
2- Henry VIII
3- Larry King
4- Paul King
You are one miserable bastard, either way. Moan moan fucking moan. Let people just be happy at the whiff of a brighter future.

What do you suggest as an alternative (and Im not having a go here as I hate all the Premiership money flolating about) mid table mediocrity in the 3rd Division ?
This must be the real deal, if for no other reason than that McCabe didn't once say "Hey" in his interview. I have noticed he now has a particular fondness for saying "echelons"
You can only go on what KM has said in the past and we all know we must take that with a pinch of salt. It still doesn't hind the fact or answer the question why we didn't make a big signing yesterday if we have money to invest.
At the moment it's all talk. Until I see some actual proof i.e a decent signing then I trust KM as far as I can throw him. Being a Blade has taught me that esp when it come to KM.
I'll see your Kings and raise you some Queens.
1. Julian Clary
2. Elizabeth II
3. Boy George
4. Queen, New Mexico
Just to stress once again that having no alternative is no barrier to complaining about any situation.
I honestly don't know what the answer is (Peter Green? That one just occurred to me - sorry for the aside). Anyway, I guess the problem is a simple one. We need money. Therefore we need someone who is possessant of it in sufficient quantities to be able to invest in our club. Herein lies the rub. There is an argument to be made that anybody who fits that criterion has not made such a stack in an entirely ethical fashion. So, to that extent, it's a black and white issue. A fans' co-operative of some sort or suck it up. Or, a complete fantasy this one, that clubs are impelled to live within their financial means both at home and abroad and we find our level based on our income and scouting, coaching and management abilities. As I said, utter fantasy.
However, returning to the investor and money issue, I could also make the argument that some money is more suspect than other money. If we accept this then it's into the grey areas we go and where we draw the line is a matter for individual conscience. For me, Saudi royal family money is a step too far. Unconscionable really. McCabe's cash, I could live with. Kenwright's cash ditto. Ashley's too. I could probably even make a case for the wodge of Abramovich at a push but this one, no. I just can't do it.
I didn't want a wilderness years repeat by any means and wanted investment as much as any Blade but of this type? No.
What's your opinion on players being paid £250,000 per week. Isn't this a bit "immoral".
If there were no more oil in the world, should we refuse to buy Saudi oil? Where do we draw the line about the morality we demand?
BTW, I respect your moral stance.

If the Saudi oil were the only oil left in the world, do you think the victors of the resultant war would be selling?
Same ball park, lots of shit starts to happen to the body after the big five ho (in my experience)..... then comes 60...Over 60s. Er...not me. Over 50, yes.

I'm also 60 ( nearly ) , I've seen us win the Sheffield County Cup on many occasions, and ofcourse the 4th division championship, whats wrong wi i'm dint he go to DARLINGTON & watch Stanny raise the trophy in their stand,
On a more realistic note , I have always been against the premiership, and loosing in the Championship play off fianl will do for me, unless this could be the begining of a transformation of the corrupt prem & it's hierarchy, in which sustainable, honest & open clubs compete by paying sensible fees & realistic wages.
