The Sheffield Star has a very balanced, even reporting on all the local clubs. It is insightful, current, deep and often features exclusive stories most supporters would be keen to read.

I'm going in hard....

I think the singing of Greasy Chip Butty at the beginning of every half of football is cringy and tiresome.

Yeah I'm not as eager to sing it these days especially in run of the mill league games. Noticed away fans at a number of matches last season conducting their fingers sarcastically while it was being sung, I don't necessarily think we should stop singing it but maybe bring the lyrics a bit more up to date as it's from the eighties or even come up with an entirely different song altogether.

Go on then let me have a go. Couldn’t help but feel Robson needed a little more time

That's your opinion and I have the same but about other previous managers we've had.

Regarding Robson I think he was too much of a piss head at the time and his brain subsequently all gone to cock (saying that CW is mad on Peroni!). I thought he was never destined for any more success as a manager and so it proved while with us and after leaving us. I remember a post match interview of his for a Blades match that had been on Sky and he said "well today the chances just went in for us". o_O

God-tier thread. I'm surprised (and a little disappointed) that this hasn't turned into a turgid shit show yet.

Selling Blackman in the JTW single-handedly ruined the entire 12/13 season for us.

Adkins should have been given another season.

The club, fans and associated people handled the Ched saga incredibly poorly, and ruined our reputation in the football world for years to come.

We haven't had a good defensive midfielder since Doyle.

There is no such colour as 'wednesday' blue, or Chelsea blue, or Colchester blue, or United blue.
I think it's fooking pathetic that we have an aversion to a colour just because our rivals home shirts contain it.
If we had an away shirt in blue, it would say to the other lot that they don't own the sole rights to the colour, and that the Mighty Blades will play in whatever colour we want.
Completely agree. I find it hard to believe that anyone would so pathetic as to never wear a blue shirt/t-shirt. I've got shit loads of blue stuff in my wardrobe and hardly any red.

I agree with that.

We've had blue twice (albeit navy) in my lifetime and they're both my favourite ones. Sadly, our dopey fans have decided that they want radioactive flourescent shite as an away colour instead.

I despise Wednesday as much as the next decent, intelligent human being but it doesn't mean I hate the colour blue.
Same here, love both the navy away shirts we've had. I'd absolutely love to see us bring this one back.

I would like to stress that this was an opinion felt *at the time* and not *with the benefit of hindsight*
Don't think that counts - you can't have proper arguments about opinions that people no longer hold. You need to start a different thread. My first contribution would be 10 minutes into Deane's first home match - 'He'll never make a professional footballer.' I'd changed my mind by half-time.

Don't think this one has been mentioned as have only speed read through the rest of the comments but I really couldn't give a shit if we ever moved from BL as long as certain conditions for the new ground were met.

The facilities at BL are awful as are pretty much all the stands from the outside. I get the whole "original stadium argument" I really do but for me it's not the be all and end all.

I go to watch and cheer on the team on the pitch

We should have that as our permanent de facto away shirt, no changes allowed ever.

Martyn Woolford was brilliant when deployed at attacking mid.

Dean Henderson will turn out to be our best keeper this century.

Our fans are quiet.

The Kop corner stand should fade up into the Kop and hold a singing section for our 21 vocal fans.

Chris Wilder doesn’t know the meaning of defend.

Ryan Leonard will become a fans favourite at right centre back.

We are a smaller club than people think.

The South Stand and John Street stand are too far away from the pitch.

The idea of a family stand is fucking abysmal.

We need a defensive midfielder.
