Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SUFC

Had some stick before for this one, but since I don’t go every week:

I’d rather see us play really well, attack a lot, create opportunities and play attractive one and two touch stuff but lose, than see us grind out the most boring 1-0 win*.

* This does not apply in a cup/playoff final.

duffy is unfit or has a medical condition.. he misses half the games and comes off after the 70th minute in the others (dives for cover) :D

I am genuinely worried, though far from convinced yet, that this might be true.

I don't think he's tactically inept, but I think it's fair to say he's tactically immature.

He's changed things before and they've worked, like going to our current formation from the one he started with, and the formations he played against Wednesday and Leicester away were great and worked very well, but they were never to be seen again. And the throw the kitchen sink at it shite last season cost us a couple of times.

He'll get better, but yeah at the moment there are better tactical minds than he for situations mid game.

There is no such place as 'South Barnsley'. It is an exagerated construction used by our fans to mock our rivals for their geographical base. It is known as a 'joke'.

The Wednesday (note, not 'Sheffield Wednesday') moved to Owlerton in 1889 when it was OUTSIDE the city boundary. It became part of Sheffield in 1901, hence they moved out of the city. This is another exagerated construction given that they left Sheffield and moved slightly closer to Barnsley. You could say in fact, this is also a 'joke'.

ISC - History and Geography lessons for the hard of learning, since 1970.....

Thanks, that was both interesting and informative. I have to disagree on there being "no such place as South Barnsley" though. It's south of Barnsley town centre.

Who's winning?
I don't give a shit. That's still more of a shit than I give about the Premier League. :)

Thinking about it though, I would love to see West Ham relegated, just love it, but apart from that.....

I liked Jose Baxter

I was a huge fan of his because I like to watch people do things that I can’t do.

I think Bash is a dedicated club servant and I love him, but he doesn’t do anything I can’t do. The reason he’s a footballer and I’m not, is that even though he only does things I can do, he can do them every time.

I do enjoy it when Bash goes on one of his runs and the opposition have no clue what he's going to do next........ mainly because neither does he.

I think George long will turn out to be a fantastic goalkeeper. And the fact that the delinquent fanbase destroyed every morsel of confidence the kid had is a utter embarrassment.

On that theme, here's an opinion that, from what I've experienced, is very unpopular: you should never boo your own player (or shout abuse at him).

As a kid in the sixties I used to enjoy going to both the Lane and Swillsboro with a mix of blades and owls mates - things were simpler and more easy going back then (couldn't afford many away games)

Any other traitors out there?

Connor Sammon has scored 3 in 3 for Motherwell.
