Time to step us Chris and show us all that you can grab the reigns and steer this club through this latest crisis.
Losing our most influential midfielder and playmaker is a massive blow, but in you Sir Chris WE TRUST!
We know you will do the necessary and make the astute signing in Jan to keep this fantastic roller coaster of a ride on track, this is just a set-back, not a show stopper, together we will make this dream a reality.

PS. - McCabe, just give him the dosh to do the job, to get this close and lose out, would be a crime.

I was obvs referring to the Jan transfer kitty, best plan ahead eh?

We need to change our mindset from who can replace Coutts, because nobody can. The question is how do we adapt the system to allow others to flourish and keep the wins coming.

Wilder and Knill will have this, fear not.

When are Freeman and Baldock back? One to right back and Bash in to central midfield seems most obvious to me, hopefully Lundstram can step up though

To Wilder this is not a crisis, he will already have plan B ready to go. We will all probably disagree but again we will be all be proven wrong.

Maybe an astute move would be to stick Basham back in midfield like he was v the pigs, giving fleck and another a little more freedom.

Said the same on another thread – with the return soon of Baldock, the strength at the back, and Wilder’s keenness to find a place for him in the side, it seems quite likely.

There must be a plan B. Coutts and Fleck are our 2 best players and it injuries and suspensions are always going to happen.

CW will have planned for this.

Not to detract in any way from Coutts as a loss. I think he’s our best player and obviously wish him well.

This for me.

CCV has started to get into the role of bombing on at RCB. Still leaves Stearman as more than capable cover.

It feels like tge quality of the team doesn’t suffer and having his tenacity in the winter months won’t hurt.

Baldock or Freeman must be close now.

I agree . CW has planned for this .

Wilder has back up for every position and player in the team . Lundstram is Coutts' replacement. Is he better than Coutts , no , I don't think he is . Can he do a job though , yes , and i think we will all see that he can .

wilders not a miracle worker ,with the best will in the world a team with our budget can't just replace a player like paul Coutts.
in wilder we trust but how many rabbits has he got in his bag .

no pressure then!

We also have Brooks, Carruthers, Basham if we need him, O’Shea who we’ve seen little of. It’s up to them to step up.

None of them are as good as Coutts, but at one stage you’d say we were totally lost without Sharp. Whilst he’s a very important player and we are obviously better with him, I don’t think we’d say that now. Clarke has stepped up - time for the midfield fringe players to do the same.

All the best to Coutts until his return.

I think he IS a miracle worker. A team with our budget should not be top of the championship!

Have every faith Wilder will adapt. He wont be the one who controls the money in January though. The board have got to be strong and support Wilder in getting a Coutts like replacement, and other players we need (pace upfront etc).
