This last year we haven't had much to moan about apart from the ticket office and loyalty point and a few more minor points so when a little downward spiral happens (even the most red and white tinted spectacle wearers should agree it's inevitable) it's hard to tell how sections of our fans will react, any users of blades groups on Facebook or on twatter will realise how stupid (like all clubs) some of our fans are.
My question come May, will you be happy with 4th bottom or not?

Right now, no.

If we're majorly in the shit come January and we dug our way out with a good late run, yes. More relieved, but I'd be happy with it.

But as of now, I think we're much better than 21st.

I have voted yes as I would be happy and have said all along that I would be happy if we was to stop in the championship but I can't see us finishing that low to be honest. We are a lot better than people are going to be expecting and think we could surprise a lot of teams this season who will come to the lane expecting 3 easy points and they will be more than shocked when they leave with 0.

No. Comfortable survival (say 6th-8th from bottom) at a minimum but even then I wouldn't be happy, more content. I'd be happy with mid table, absolutely delighted with play offs.

Eternal boner and marriage proposal addressed to a Mr C Wilder in the event of automatic.

Would be massively dissapointed if we finish 4th from bottom because we'd have had a really poor season.

Also I'm very confident we'll finish at least mid table.
I think it's possible we could even reach the playoffs but it's wishful thinking and not realistic.

If we had scraped up through the play offs, managed by someone like Clough, then I'd say yes, 100%.

But we won the league with 100 points with a great manager so we should be looking to finish a bit higher than 21st. So it's a no or 'not quite' from me. If we do finish 21st though we shouldn't throw the toys out of the pram.

There's no way we won't finish above Bolton, Burton and Millwall anyway. And at least one or two others.

on paper yes, because the 1st season after promotion is about consolidation.
but practically no, because there are more than 3 teams worse than us, so to finish 4th bottom will mean we have under achieved
i would put us mid table, can we realistically compete with the big guns spending silly money - no. Bear in mind that JT's wage at villa (£60k pw) would probably pay 7 or 8 of our starting 11 from Saturday. But over the last 2 years look at what team spirit can do (Leicester / Huddersfield) and we would have to drop off a cliff to be bottom 4 folder.

Imagine my dismay at opening this thread only to find that it has absolutely nothing to do with some weird left wing fantasy about bringing our current prime minister to the point of climax :o

If we finish 4th bottom everyone will be made up because we've probably managed to avoid yet another last day tragedy.

After so many years of shite, and looking back just 18 months. Yes.

No, as were miles better than the likes of Bolton Barnsley Millwall burton and Ipswich
I'd add to the list, Forest, Brum, Bristol City, QPR and possibles in Hull, Sunderland and a few others.
Having assessed the squads from the off I'd say there were 10 teams who are probably better than us but the same number who were worse. Of course you can never say what a string of injuries or a roll of bad luck can do but I trust Wilder to pull us through any of that and I have a sneaky feeling he'll squeeze us into top 10.

Blades stay up, deluded stay down....owt else is a bonus

Sadly for us Lefties it will be Go May long before the next election. The Tories are an evil bunch, fuelled by ruthless self-interest and contemptuous of anyone but their own class and cronies.

They are, however, past masters at spotting a loser before he/she loses. She's toast.

Before the season started I was confident of mid table. Saturday's performance against a quick, skillful and clever side has done nothing to dent that confidence. Personally I would be dissapointed with 4th from bottom, however if we do end up in a relegation scrap then obviously I would take it.

I put no, thinking we were still in league one and that was relegation. I change that to yes.

This question has been asked before and I'll say the same as I did then; I'd be content with anything other than relegation in our first season back after six billion years in the 3rd division. Because in all honesty, that has to be what it's all about. So I answered yes, though I'd not agree with the word "happy". However, I think we'll do much better than that.

If we finish outside the top 2 this season will have been an absolute disaster.

Appeh? No. Accepting of? Yes if we are shown to be lacking. Calling for CW/AK's heads? Never. They have already punched way above SUFC's weight and earned a couple of seasons gratis IMO.

I wouldn't be happy with 4th bottom. But I would accept it as it means we go again at this level. But I have much higher aspirations for this team.

I'd be happy, as it's the same result whether you finish 7th, 17th or 21st. You're in the Championship next season
