Didn't they play in a silly shirt at Colchester on MOTD, when we got walloped 5-2? And also at Palace I think, early 70's, also on MOTD and lost 5-0, I think.

I'm sure I've also seen pics of them in a blue strip at Liverpool in the 70's?

We've had blue a couple of times more modern too. I've still got another blue one in my wardrobe as well as this.

Night match as I recall and televised? Palace scored that 30 yard, top-bins worldie with John Hope in mid air at full stretch.

The Ipswich game was on Sunday Soccer (with Keith Macklin) Woody got four and Badger scored as well.

Never let it be said United are anything near consistent in form

Palace match was a Saturday afternoon match and highlights was on MOTD

Not sure the top picture was Colchesters away kit. We played in the same kit at Bury that same season. Keith Edwards equalized in the last minute.
It was because the shirts we brought had the name of our sponsors on and at the time it was against the rules for a match to be televised if either team had sponsors names on their shirts so we had to "borrow" Colchester's change kit

Christ, so it was. It just looks like the whole of that second half was played about 10pm.

We played that day like we did last night. Harris's team had that in them as much as WIlder's does. Stuffed full of potential and talent, but occasionally fails to turn up. Their second one, RFB skinned and Hughes just runs on to score at the near post. No support. No cover.

And then 'Big John Hughes ... moving forward ... breathing the chance and giving it the hammer!"

Great illustration what a quality centre forward and header of the ball Billy Dearden was. Would Cannon do that?

Crystal Palace once had to play in Wednesday kit at BDTBL ,The game was not scheduled for television but because of postponed game elsewhere the cameras came to our match , but Palace had brought their shirts with a sponsors name on the front so borrowed a kit from the owls

They played in our yellow away shirts with the black chevrons in the televised match in 1977/78 at the lane.

Oh my god. Can you imagine?

I hope they went through a lice-dip trough afterwards and showered in Domestos just to get the stench out of their pores
