You've been reading Kenny's jokes haven't you?

Must admit I can still find some smiles but, these days, they tend to be completely unintentional by the provider.

I only log in for updates from the front line in Selby and Fleets holiday plans.

This is the problem. Its all a bit knee-jerk. If we do that people will be happy to keep him. Don't win in September they'll have their shoes off in car park.

How long should he be given next season though? Do you have any expectations, so if Clough fails to lives up to your standards you would like him to leave?

I wonder what the poll would come out like if you had a poll on the South Stand seat by seat.
I assure you they'd be a big out majority

We need to get up this year. No messing about anymore. He's had 1.5 seasons, 2 full pre-seasons and 2 January windows. It is his team now.

We need to be in the top 4 all season, not 6th, 7th or 8th. If we aren't in touching distance of the top 2 by end of October/November i.e. 3 or 4pts behind or better then we need to think about it.

I'm not saying we sack him if we're 5pts off in 3rd per se...

Bristol City were in the top 2 from the 7th game last season.
MK Dons were only outside the top 4 on four occasions.
Preston didn't get into the top 6 until the 8th game but then never fell below 4th.

In contrast - the highest we ever got was 5th. We occupied 5th spot for 26 rounds of fixtures.

The point i'm trying to make is that at no point over the season did we challenge for the top 2. If we aren't showing any form of challenge again by November then, yes, i think he should go. Without doubt.

Good points none the less.

We set the tone for the entire season with the pointless opening two games and the Davies (RM), Alcock(RB), HM2 (CB), Harris (LB) back four. Never recovered from that and so never reached top two.
If we start next season, and the first starting back four isn't RB, CB, CB, LB I'll be absolutely mortified.

I feel for Brayford. People are saying he's not as good this time around. Probably because he's been at CB not RB. He's great at bombing forward and overlapping.

He probably wouldn't be injured either if he didn't have to play CB

Brayford did what was asked of him and did that well.
Play him in his correct position with assistance wide right he's class

He also never got to play with Flynn as much as last season, who gave him the freedom to bomb on

Bumps as a reminder that 2 in 3 Blades (based on this sample, obviously) actually wanted Clough to remain in charge after the playoff defeat.

I feel like this often gets forgotten.
Tempted to do one for Adkins?

Interesting numbers.

Almost identical % if favour of keeping as there is for Adkins in this years poll.

I wouldn't have sacked Clough (with the caveat that we don't see what goes on behind the scenes) and I wouldn't sack Adkins now

Interesting, but not wholly surprising in my view.
I would say it's probably the same people wanting stability and building and the same people wanting a wholesale change.
We've gone backwards this season for sure BUT less than two full seasons is simply not (unless you are a Heath/Robson/Weir style disaster) a way forward.

I was Clough Out and I'm Adkins In.

Biggest budget since Robson. More signings in a season than anyone else in decades. Still didn't do it.
