Do the maths.
now 20 wins out of 22 for the ultra deluded.
I appreciate your points, just a bit alarmed at your maths though!
Both BC and Swindon have 51 points. Adding 43 and 42 to that makes 94 and 93 (not 95 and 98).
That reduces your "27 points we need" already but more significantly this total is only based on their form remaining "as is" for the entire season. In real terms we need to gain 16 more points than them both between now and the end of the season. Still a big ask though.

As for the 27 points needed, this is based on current form,.if we all stay the same average wise between now and the end of the season we will finish on 72 points , bristol on 97.75, and swindon on 93.84....
I had added a point as I don't think we'll catch them on goal difference, I do appear to be one point out on swindon however, we will be 21.84 points behind not the 23 needed to draw level, the 23 became 24 for goal diff reasons.
But the 15 teams we went past were bottom / mid table, not top of the table and in banging form with strikers who score goals and defences who don't leak them.
UTB & FTP
So we need to get 24 more points than Swindon not 27, see if you sleep on it and calm down things are never as bad as they seem.
If our form mirrors the first half of the season we won't even make the top 6 FFS!
Exactly..... so clough targets a top two spot, we are not a threat to anybody in this league, we have been beatable all season, clough could not have said anything other than this, he has to bang that drum to keep everybody happy, I just hope they don't get too let down when nigels promise to them doesnt pay off, and we have to find another manager..
To get 16 points in front of them we need 32 points more than them in 23.The season is 1 game either way exactly at half way
If swindon can get16 points in front of us in 23 ergo its wholly possible we can get 16 points in front of them .
All teams have runs where the form goes , thats why few clubs get 90 to 100 points
We know from bitter experience what its like to get 90 points and not go up , it could happen to swindon or bristol city if we can chase them down
we only need to be 1 point in front of them in mayTo get 16 points in front of them we need 32 points more than them in 23.
we only need to be 1 point in front of them in may
Indeed, this is when we change our name to 'Blades'.We can be ahead alphabetically.![]()
15 is a huge gap, its five wins straight and five straight losses for the top three, so talking of top two is bananas as far as the stattos go especially on current form, and that's all we can work on sadly..
As far as maths go, its do able on paper cause there's no guarantee that swindon, mk, and brizzle won't choke..and we won't have another "season of two halves" last season was roy of the rovers stuff and a charge to safety that overachieved everybodys expectations....
We might not make autos, just don't go after clough, that's all I am trying to say here, some will, but if we can see the size of the job and pass that on, we might be able to protect him from the more reactionary amongst us, let's go long term with nigel whatever happens...
