I’m praying that we can get through the next two weeks without selling any assets mainly sander. I’d love to see this squad gel as I feel we are only going to get better. I know the prince still has his doubters but for me he’s been a breath of fresh air after there’s no bigger Blade than me but I’ll sell at the first offer. This season feels special already UTB

I wonder what the club value Ndiaye at - what number would make them think twice.

Not so fast, what about all our 'quality posters' who want to sell half the squad of useless freeloaders? 🤔

Keep it open just a little bit so Watford can lose Sarr and Joao Pedro!

How dirty the fixture list was to us. This weekend they drew at Preston and none of those played. Much rather face them with Bayo and Menaj up front and even with Davis or Asprilla than the 75m forward line we had to face!

£20m would definitely make them think twice. Especially as it'd mean we could keep Berge and there are ready replacements in Doyle, McAtee and Khadra (as wells our own Will Osula too)

We have no "ready replacement" for Ndiaye , none whatsoever.
None of those you mention has his unique combination of attributes.
I would not sell him at any price.
Not this season.
He's our likeliest source of goals.

Sarr gone..to wait for it. VILLA.

i wasn't saying i'd sell him, but like it or not £20m would turn the board's heads, no doubt about that. I guess we don't know either way if they're ready replacements, none of us have any idea whether they have the combined attributes or not

In twelve months time could his goals have led us back to the premiership and increased his value to somewhere along the lines of the MGW transfer fee?
He has developed from a player who could not get into the squad into an incredible talent within the space of 12 months, what does the next twelve months have in store?

Keep this squad together and we go up IMO

Sell Sander or IN and that drops by 15% and we battle for playoffs

Probably true but would you bet your house on it?
Thats the issue our owner has.

If we keep Sander but still fail to gain promotion we are well and truly fu$ked as a club.
There would need to be mass sales at cheap sale prices (because other clubs would know we're desperate to sell) and we'd become an outside bet for relegation.

Is it worth the risk? Selling Berger for 25 million would mean we can keep most of our players next season and bring in decent loanees too.
Funny how so many people are wanting to take a risk when it's someone else gambling at the roulette table.

I'm sat on the fence regards Sander because I don't know the exact finances.
My view is if we receive less than 20 million then there's little point in selling but 25 million would be very tempting .

I don't think any on here want to sell any of our players whom other clubs are supposed (acc to media) to be interested in buying.
You seemed fairly keen the other week
Yes but how do you offload Fleck , Norwood etc when no other club would be daft enough to pay the wages they are stealing from us ?

Who says we are well and truly fd if we keep Sander and don't get promotion? That's way too negative and smacks of panic. Prince knows what he's doing. No club ever got anywhere by selling their best players at the first opportunity. It's time this 'McCabeism' was expunged from the fan base.

No doubt that if Ndiaye stays injury free he has the potential for a top 6 premier league team
20 million nah another year with us and he continues to develop and if we go up and he has a good WC he’s 35 million plus in todays game buy you’d sell and leave us with three very good loanees two of which we can’t but and a young lad that’s maybe two years behind Ndiaye

strikers/attacking players with that bit of skill/trickery/genius always attract the biggest premium.
So I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the player to attract the largest fee might well be Ndiaye.

However….I’m hopeful…and I may well have been hoodwinked again…that we might just look at the bigger picture and keep our eyes on the prize and decide to go for what would be worth even more to the club than 40-50m quid in sales now. That being the values of those same players will probably double if they manage to fire us to the premier league again, added to at least another 3 years of prem money.

If anything, I would like the club to realise the need for one more striker and maybe a short term keeper loan to cover those areas still light.
If we get a striker in, send Osula out for the season and we are covered.

It’s from the position of this strength that we should take that gamble rather than gamble that we won’t get any more injuries and be stuck until January. Let’s make sure we build on where we are and ensure we get the job done

Absolutely! If we had Macabre in charge they’d have both have been sold already… it was the reason we flounder for all those years under him… the instance that you can’t keep contracted players…was just a total excuse to cash in.

Unfortunately the transfer window doesn't shut for another 10 days. If, and it's a big if, we still have Baldock, Egan, Anel, N'diaye and Berge on September 2nd I will really believe that we have a great chance of automatic promotion.

I was replying to posters who were disappointed with both players (as was I) and saying they should be moved on.
My point was that we are stuck with them because based on their recent form (at that time) no other club would meet their wages - and indeed no other club has shown interest in them.
Since that time , Norwood has shown signs of improvement , Fleck less so.

My point about not wanting to sell any players in whom other clubs are interested doesn't relate to either of them coz I've not seen any such interest reported by the media.

At the time , I was fairly dubious about Hecky being able to get a tune out of either of them - and let's face it , he hasn't recruited Khadra , McAtee & Doyle for no reason.

So yes , I was ambivalent about the prospect of them leaving , whilst knowing that in reality we are stuck with em both.

Hecky has somehow got Norwood to improve quite dramatically + Fleck to a lesser extent ....
Maybe he's had a quiet word with both of them , who knows ?

He spoke yesterday about moving the ball quicker being a major factor in the destruction of Blackburn.

Historically , Norwood's slow build up play & Fleck's obvious lack of pace have not usually contributed to moving the ball quicker.

Maybe they can change ? But if they can't , Hecky now has the loanees to replace them.

I find our slow transition very frustrating and I associate it with Norwood , Fleck & "Wilderball" , in which we tend to ping the ball out to the wings + then fanny about without breaking through.

As has been shown recently , some quicker , more varied play , occasionally though the middle , can be very effective.

If the old guard can be persuaded to change their ways , fine.

But the old guards' habits should not dictate the team tactics to Hecky.

We absolutely need an experienced striker to replace Billy's goals

No one is above sensible criticism and discussion about how to improve the team performance.
My main point is the venomous language used in some peoples posts, yours that I copied, being a shocking example of that.

When Slav was sacked the statement the club made clearly said that we would be ensuring the club remained sustainable by selling, but only at the right price. I get the ambition argument but the way some are speaking reminds me of the pigs approach, never sell and then end up in a mess. There's a sensible line to tow, it won't please some but if the right bid comes in, we have to sell because that's our business model.

Although I don't think we'd definitely be fucked if we lost Sander, and I know we're only 5 games in...

But this season so far he looks like he truly believes he is better than any player he comes up against.

Whereas previous seasons he would have a go every now and then but if it didn't come off he would become pretty anonymous.

I know Anel and Ili getting the plaudits but I think Sanders increased confidence has been a huge part of our short term success so far this season.

I have a sprinkling of optimism that we can now sell players and replace them with well scouted, quality replacements. Anel and the loan players all look quality so far. Last season I wouldn't have had this optimism. Recruitment is key!

As soon as somebody starts with that ‘stealing a wage’ bollox you know that they haven’t a clue.

My understanding is that at present the budget is fully allocated and whilst there is hardly any wiggle room , there is no actual need to sell.
