We're in for a big rebuild. Obviously the best scenario would be Wilder coming back this summer, but that requires a whole ownership change which is unrealistic.

What should our plans be this summer? Which players should be keep, sell and buy? Who should be our new manager?

We need a complete overhaul top to bottom and a whole rebuild. All our players are out of depth in Premier League

And you would have to suggest that without Wilders man management, alot of them aren't even top 6 championship quality if we're brutally honest

Scrubbed the potatoes for tonight's roast.

Oh sorry, i thought this thread was going to be along the lines of "what did you do today to avoid following the match?"

Let's be honest, from today's starting eleven only Ramsdale, Basham, Baldock,
and Fleck are any where near top championship level.

despite Wilders tactical stubbornness.. his man management was great and able to get 110% effort out of the players which made up for lack of overall quality.

Without him a lot of these players are mid to bottom half champ quality.

Apart from this season when he managed to get F all out of them

To be honest if we keep O'Connell, Egan and Basham there is no other single player I would be gutted about losing in Summer. I would like to keep Bogle though.

Fuck it Hecky, just chuck the entire U-23 side in. We may as well go down smiling at a bit of youthful enthusiasm

Basham, Stevens, Fleck, Norwood, McGoldrick and Sharp are, or will be, over 30 years of age at the start of next season. Some of those are going to have to be replaced soon, whatever's decided.

We've got too many players who are described in their pen-pictures as forwards, so two of those need to leave, even before it's thought about replacing those who are still left.

In theory I'd expect us to do pretty well with most of the players that are on the books, even allowing for some of the more bizarre appointments. After all, Norwich ended last season in appalling fashion.

However, I'm coming round to the view that it might need a wholesale clear-out and to start over, with all the risks that entails.

We seem to have turned ourselves into Huddersfield Town.

We need a rebuild and not just because we’re closing in on 12 months of literally no one playing above about a 5/10.

we don’t have good enough back up defenders (proven this season), no left back as stevens looks completely shot and no one else has been able to get past a player who’s not had even one decent game in a year.

will have only 4 midfielders. Only one of which is is decent, 2 of which won’t be here and one who’s getting on for a stevens level of performance in Norwood.

we have no wingers, no creative midfielder. literally none and we are physically unable score. And we won’t suddenly open up defences in the league below.

we’ve a glut of misfiring strikers to chose from.

we are unable to keep a clean sheet.

it’s going to be a long process and let’s be honest, I’ve zero trust in the prince to get the appointment correct or back whoever it is with funds sufficient to do the job

I think anyone watching today would say that should have been Bryan and lunnys last games at the club , now's the time to blood the youngsters who
If heckingbottom has any hopes of the job full-time he needs to change the way we play and get them running from the start of next season (by the way tindall can fuck off at one point when the camera was on him you could tell the cunt was smirking behind the mask ,nepotism at its worst )

we need to keep bash,Egan & Jack to build the team around , and see if ampadu will come for a second season to form a pair with berge
we need a 3'4'3 for next season

my outs would be lunny, bryan, norwood, stevens ,Burke
apologies it's a bit of a ramble but I am that pissed off

We don't have the money to clean house unfortunately. With that considered, what we need is an excellent man manager with a proven track record of getting the best out of some average players. We just spent millions on getting rid of one.

Of today’s starting line up the following are not good enough for next season..

Ampadu
Bryan
Stevens
Lundstrum
Burke

The following are squad players not starters

Norwood
Sharp

That leaves just four of todays starters I would be happy starting the first game next seaon.

Ramsdale
Bash
Baldock
Fleck.

I expect Egan, and Berge to leave and possiblly JOC too.

Big rebuild needed.

I hope that doesn't mean you're expecting us to sign 7 starters. If that does happen they're going to be proper shit players.

The likes of RND, Bogle and Osborn are going to be added to those four so not seven

Where do you start?

Out of the current squad I think if we're looking at players good enough for a promotion charge then we need to keep Ramsdale, bogle, joc, berge, egan and purely based on their previous seasons at that level brewster and mcburnie.

I would accept a reasonable offer for Baldock if one came in as I think bogle is more than an adequate replacement at that level.

I'd give fleck and mcgoldrick another season and sharp as a backup.

I'd want RND starting next season, he deserves a shot now after some decent loan spells and it saves having to spend.

The rest can go for me. Take anything we can get for Stevens, mousset, Norwood, Fotheringham, Burke and Robinson.

I'd keep osborn and Lowe as back ups but if any offers came in I'd consider them and the release lundstram, Rodwell and jags.

We then need 5 or 6 players who are going to come in and be first team players. Not messing about with squad players who just come in and pick up a wage anymore but players who will genuinely start week in week out.

We then need to pick 3 or 4 of the best under 23s and get them in and around the squad every match day. Probably Maguire, Hackford, Ndiaye and Ayari. Others need to be getting out on loan and playing mens football regularly.

In other words this next pre season is going to be huge for whoever takes over.
