What's the bass, Grappler?

Schecter Raiden, looks like this

I've got a Schecter something like that (with 6 strings), second along.....View attachment 18667

one thing I miss living in the South now, not as many people seem to play guitar or play in local bands the scene in south Yorkshire as whole is much better, of topic I know but still....

As for Clarke, I never like it when we sign ex pigs, but everyone I have said I wish we would not sign have gone on to be good, so like the rest what the hell do I know. :(

19 goals in 29 games last year, that's outstanding. Fuck him being a 'pig' the lad scores goals at this level.

I couldn't care less if after every goal he shouted 'allahu akbar', grew a Hitler tash and took the piss out of people in council houses - if he scored 20 goals next season he'd go down in Blades folklore.

Why is Clarke black .

Black people have black skin, their textbooks say, because they have a distinctive Malphigian layer.
This is a section of the skin named after the seventeenth-century Italian anatomist Malphigii.
It contains lots of cells called melanocytes. Within them is a dark pigment called melanin.

Always here to help...

Flitcroft's a bit of a mouthpiece isn't he? I understand he's trying to spark a bidding war, protect the club's best interests etc. but to say we've turned his head by acting unprofessionally (and a swipe at Alan Knill in particular), unless I'm missing something, doesn't seem to be accurate.

In fact I thought Knill acted professionally in his interview, he acknowledged that we'd made a bid (it had already been ridiculed by Flitcroft in the press) and said we have a valuation on Clarke which we'll not go beyond. He was half lured into having a nibble back at Flitcroft but instead chose to say he respected his position, he's been on the receiving end of it before... The only circus antics are coming from Bury's end.

I hope we do sign Leon Clarke, he's a very different option to what we already have, works hard on the pitch and is good for a goal. But I fear if we keep dragging this out someone else (Coventry perhaps) will come in and nick him. We have previous on haggling for too long and losing out targets.

Flitcroft is acting the Gobshite in an attempt to keep the burning torch brigade from the door when they sell Clarke, and they will because they have to, they are in the shit. Whether it is to us or whoever is the question, Flitcroft's attempt to stoke up a bidding war is as subtle as an air raid. I hope we don't overreact to it, our limit should be our limit. If some other silly fuckers wants to pay too much thats up to them.

Difficult one this Crab - what if an extra £100K meant that we signed a player who turned the fortunes of this club around? I do take your point, but although I too share your view that it's refreshing to know we're now employing a more realistic approach to who we sign, I also hope that we don't cut our noses to spite our face if the failure to spend a relatively small amount means we lose a player who could improve our performance.

Fair point, it's a bit Stick or Twist isn't it? The flaw in my opinion is that, for the sake of an extra £100'000 (for example) he could score the goals that take us up, then one can quite rightly say it's excellent value, and I would have a nice slice of humble pie in my pincers.

The nagging doubt in my mind though, is that if we start going North of, say, £300'000, it's a punt on a player who is over 30, with probably little or no resale value. Further to that, I'd question whether he'd do it in the Championship. If he could, he'd be there already, especially at 31 years old.

I'm more than happy to be proved wrong, I just want us to go up, whoever we sign.

The thing is CW has plaaced a value on Clarke knowing how valuable he might be to SUFC. That means he should have taken the 'what if' into consideration and will have a ceiling based on those facts. Flitcroft is using inflammatory comments and is really being unprofessional.

As i said before before, it's simple. Just say our valuation of Leon is £x amount (and i expect that to be 7 figures), unless you're willing to match that then don't ring us again. Until you do this Flickers you'll continue to get enquiries, which is disrupting not only our player but our pre-season preparation.

If your head is not in the right place for a game against Southport then I agree with the others, he's off !! After all the loyalty shown to him by the club last season I would hope we get more than £250k - for a player of his stature around 500k would be nearer the mark. Proven goalscorer in this league - oh yes, I would also put a clause in the contract that he cannot play against us this season.
