CKR on the move

To be fair - isn't he a guy who bails at the first sign of trouble? Surely regardless of what he can do on the pitch you don't want that type of player in the dressing room.

Good business but he wasnt someone we needed to sell.

Disappointed to see him go.

Who has said we needed to sell him??

Perhaps he wanted the chance to play abroad on lots more cash than we would pay?

Why would we keep a player who wanted the chance of a lifetime??

Good luck to the lad I say!

He has potential and he has only been here for one season.

If he can attract the top clubs in turkey then maybe he might be a player we should be trying to keep.

Unfortunately when bigger teams come in for players its not that simple.

Its very hard to stand in the way of a player when that happens, especially as Fenerbahce are likely to be talking big money wages wise.

He also has the opportunity to play for a brazillian legend and play alongside players such as Roberto Carlos, in the country in which he's hoping to forge an international career.

He's also shown in the past that he can be difficult to handle if he doesn't get what he wants.

Personally i'd have loved him to stay, but in this instance I think it was probably a case of getting as much as possible out of a team a player had his heart set on going to.

Invokes D. Advocatate plug-in v3.5...

Who's to say we didn't go to great lengths to try to keep him?

To what extent would you have gone to to keep him at the club? Made him the top wage earner?

Would you have forced CKR to see out his contract with the Blades if he really didn't want to stay?

And can you really blame him for wanting to move if it furthers his international credentials?

I know where I'd rather be at the moment, and it isn't in Sheffield listening to the pissing down rain!

Jags dosnt really want to stay but we making him hang on to the fact there is a slim chance we maybe still a prem club.

Could of tried doing the same with CKR maybe.

Anyway he is gone.

I just hope we replace him with someone better.

Hey there,

I'm a big Fenerbahce Fan, and very excited about new signing Kazim. To be honest with you, I havent watched a lot of him, but the things i've heard about him are usually good. Based on what I've heard, he is very promising, and has a lot of potential. He, also plays on the right wing(we dont have one player on that position) and forward.

I believe that was a good move for Kazim, also. Now he has chance to play with stars like Roberto Carlos, Kezman and Appiah, and show off his skills in the Champions League.

There is some questions about his attitude, though. Some people who live in England, and know him very well, have told me that because he grew up in Leytonstone, he has that "gangsta" attitude which gets him in trouble sometimes.

Now, I want to ask all of you Blades fans, what can you tell me about Kazim, his playing style, attitude etc...

He's got loads of potential.
He tends to try to do things on his own a lot and hasn't quite learned the simple pass is better than being flash.
His crossing is very good but quitw inconsistent.
He WILL become a very very good player, but has a lot to learn.
Shame it won't be with us.

Woah, Turkish person with better English than half the people on here.

Anyway's this is a good signing for Fener, they have got what I would say is a bargain for a player of such potential as CKR. But we have made a profit of say a £1 million, but I would have personally like to have kept him.

Think we should of tried harder to persuade him to stay another season.

Thing is, nobody knows how hard they tried to keep him and he's shown in the past he doesn't take well to not getting what he wants.

What would you prefer?

Paying him £15k.

Telling him he's staying, then having and unhappy and disruptive player within the ranks.

Getting £1mill+ to invest in others?

True Foxy, but couldn't you say that about anyone?

RB said try to persuade him, not just tell him he's staying. Part of the persuasion would be telling him how much of a future he had with us, what kind of a part he had to play and generally reiterating our plans of greatness and domination!

Thats exactly my point, who knows they didn't do that?

I know and I agree, I'm just saying there's a difference between persuading someone to stay and telling them they're not going anywhere. :)

Dissapionted to see him go, think that he had alot of potential, but unfortunatley you cant deny the kid this sort of move.

All the best CKR, hope you do well

Woah, Turkish person with better English than half the people on here.

Thanks bro, appreciated.

I also thank anyone who has replied to my message.

By the way, he has signed official contract with us today, and has said:

I am very happy and excited that I am joining Fenerbahce, the greatest club in Turkey. I believe that I will do a lot of work here. I know that Fenerbahce aims a greater success in Europe. We all are going to work to achieve our goals at the end. We want to make our fans happy.’
’I decided to play for Fenerbahce because they introduced me their club perfectly. It was not hard for me to decide to come here at the end. Yesterday I visited the Fenerbahce Museum. What a great history! Fenerbahce is the greatest club in Turkey.’

’I can play in every striking position. I consider competition as a positive thing for the development. Competition motivates me in the right direction.’

I cant any post pics here, because I have less than 5 posts, but if you want to see the pics of him in Fenerbahce jersey, go to fenerbahce.org and click on the article named “Türkiye’nin en büyük kulübüne geldim”, pics are on the bottom. :)

the middle picture?? hes on his feet!!! why didnt he wear them things while playing for us???

Seagulls set for transfer boost
Brighton are set to boost their coffers following Sheffield United's sale of Colin Kazim-Richards to Fenerbahce.

The Seagulls sold the striker, 20, 12 months ago for £150,000 and could earn up to £280,000 from a sell-on clause.

"Taking everything into account I feel we have had a good return on our initial investment," Albion chairman Dick Knight told his club's website.

"We knew what Colin was capable of when we signed him, but things didn't quite work out as we would have liked."

Brighton bought Kazim-Richards in June 2005 in a £250,000 deal from Bury.

Brighton get there share of the money.

For me, he's got a lot of potential, but if it isn't harnessed, he'll find himself an outsider wherever he goes.

He is astonishingly arrogant, but to be honest, if controlled a bit, I like that in attacking players. He thinks of himself, and we've played him as a striker, but really, he's been best on the right.

I think that at Fenerbahce, it will be the first time that he isn't thought of as being 'top of the tree', and it might just make him work harder. I hope for him it works out well.

Why does Devlin spring to mind? I agree with you.
