Outgoing? Chris Wilder

Dragging on this. If the board are split then you stick as you are, make the decision and crack on. Pre Season starts in a fortnight. For what it's worth I would be sticking with Wilder, but with caveats and he would have to get promotion next season.

Danny Hall appeared to suggest that a decision has been made, on twitter. I can only assume the delay in any announcement is to perhaps line up the successor to Wilder, so it can be announced at the same time. Just a guess though, the last part of that.

What does he suggest that? All I can see is that he says it's all still in limbo.

This is a complete and utter joke. It shouldn't take the owners this long to make a decision. It's disrespectful to Wilder who's left in the dark as to where his future lies. They should've had a meeting the day after the playoff final and made a decision there and then. At this point I'm wondering if the owners have been leaking this stuff in hope that Wilder gets pissed off and resigns so they don't have to pay him the compo that comes with sacking him.

Had they made a decision the day after, whatever it was, it would have been called a knee jerk reaction by one “side” or the other. And they’d be correct.

The flaw in the strategy of signing top championship players who aren't good enough for the PL is the inevitable hefty promotion wage rise in their contracts. Without them, they could just move on easily. But that barely ever happens. They invariably stick around and maybe go out on loan. Joe Worrall will be an example now

It is still the best strategy though. There's nothing stopping you scouting well in advance for possible PL signings if you do go up, as well as loaning players with PL potential who could be made permanent
Not sure its the best strategy.......I have some reservations that recruitment strategy. Top-tier Championship players are commanding increasingly high fees, which presents a significant financial challenge. This is precisely why expanding our scouting network and how we scout to include lower-tier European leagues and other under-explored markets is not only prudent but necessary.

Clubs such as Brentford and Brighton have successfully implemented this model for years. While it is possible to purchase data from these clubs, their underlying strategy and intellectual property remain proprietary and inaccessible.

To achieve sustainable success and establish ourselves as a consistent Premier League presence, we must develop and refine our own data-driven recruitment model. This approach has proven effective and represents the most viable path forward.

A decision, one way or another, needs to be made asap, as the transfer window reopens today. Whoever is in charge, will want to get "their", players in as soon as possible.
Will it be sorted this week?????

Delay is due to sorting compensation if I've understood what Cappy said correctly (I am an idiot though so probably haven't)

Not if there's more being worked on/ changed than 'just' Wilders position. There's talk of a DoF coming in that might have huge ramifications across the club.

I feel for Knilly in all this. Never said a word out of place, always been ultra professional and he's rately mentioned.

It's not all about CW and, despite what many think, it really never has been.

Not sure he means because its decided. More they should have decided. Longer it goes on the more I worry he'll go.

I read that as the owners could just come out and make a decision.

I read it as they’ve made a decision, they just haven’t commmunicated it outside the need to knows yet
I read it as if he was definitely staying, they could put a lid on all this immediately. That they haven`t means there is at least a debate ongoing, or the opposite decision has been made and they are waiting to announce after something else* has happened

*agreed compo, got a new manager etc etc

Danny’s clicking the heels on his ruby slippers hoping he gets what he wants.

Will he back the wrong horse again?
The local journos are all the same with whoever is in charge, shit scared to say the wrong thing as they won't get access. They'll back whichever horse that is until there's a new horse, and so on. Until Wilder leaves you can bet your arse Danny Hall, Andy Giddings, Rob Staton or Biggsy will be his biggest fans.

I would think they're waiting for confirmation from staff coming in , it's usually the American way , clear off the negative with positive news

I'd be surprised if the owners say anything - all comms should be directed by Bettis, who is responsible for the overall running of the club and especially given his promotion and with it a seat on the Board.
Why would the owners put themselves in the direct firing line for criticism, some of which will inevitably come should CW's employment indeed be terminated?

Whatever happens, it's shown that our new Cleveland overlords are just as shit at communications as PA or anyone else.

Back him or sack him. Don't keep it dragging on for weeks.

How do we know this to be correct?

How do you know they haven't backed our sacked him?

This is pure speculation and they only need to tell us something when there is something to say, surely?
