Chris Wilder on Football Heaven

I think there's a chance that Wilder is wary of having his attachment to the club taken advantage of.

He gets a lot out of a little, and would be a prime candidate for a chairman looking for relative success on the cheap.

Not saying this is or isn't the case, but I can't help but think about the "he's a lucky boy" interview, and imagine how I'd feel in Wilder's position.

Why will Chris Wilder stay with us

1. He loves the Blades
2. He hates the pigs
3. If he went to a Premier League side where would he find players that are committed to a cause like what we have together
4. What other club would he truly believe in.
5 McCabe will supply the funds in January
6. Prince will supply the funds in January
7. Best supporters in the land that idolise him
8. This is teams togetherness and spirit is amazing
9. He has Blade Blood
10. Why would he need to go a Premier League Club when he already has one where he is in the very near future

Apart from I don't think anyone was bothered about hanging onto Calvert-Lewin.

Save for the odd chance of seeing his bird at a match.

Nothing I can't see on Pornhub...................erm I mean...nothing my friend can't see on Pornhub.

Who the fuck are Sheffield Wednesday anyway? Apart from the team from South barnsley that the Blades easily rolled over in September!
What an absolute joke of a club with a fan base full of deluded clowns.
They do realise that the dolphin murderer will use the club as much as he can an then they'l be up for sale again with a shit load of debts don't they. Retards.
It' all the excitement cos Jordan Rhodes has scored 2 goals.
I bet people/companies they owe money to at the moment are shitting themselves. Co-op.

For the thousandth time, PL clubs would rather have some fucker like Claude Puel than a decent English championship manager. No one's going to trebling his money in the near future because, looking down from the PL, he's won fuck all. He's got the Blades promoted, big deal, we shouldn't be in L1. Kenny Jackett got Wolves promoted and got off to a good start in the championship. He's at Portsmouth now. Grayson got Leeds up etc. Winning L1, however stylishly, and getting off to a good start in the championship doesn't get a manager a PL job in this day and age.
Generally agree with that BB, but was just thinking if we turned this on its head. Could the likes of mourinho, conte and guardiola, be as successful as CW down in the lower leagues, having to recognise something in a player from the lower leagues, and do it on limited resources. I think not.

I'm not sure about Conte and Guardiola but Mourinho could. He spent a long time as a scout. He wasn't a successful footballer so he had to get into management by merit alone.

Interesting timing of this CW special...great PR for the club given they are trying to flog the half season tickets.

They just dont get it or wont have it that weve had terrible injuries all season, and where 2nd in league.

eventually he would, but from the position he's in at the moment, to suddenly drop down a league or two, I think he would need people around him that CW as got. Because as good as he his,(CW) he's not doing what he's doing on his own. Albeit the final decision is his.

Correct

They just can't help themselves!

I believe 68 points got Playoffs last season.

So that means we almost have to achieve what we have done in 16 games, in the next 30.

13 wins from 30 guarantees playoffs, when we've almost achieved that in half the time. These piglets are fucking stupid.

That's pigonomics for you.

Amazing what 2 wins does, one minute they're all crowing for Carlos out, why can't they play like us etc...To we're crap and they're superb.

True but it’s irrelevant whether Mourinho and Pep could do a job at league 1 level.
Some managers are great with no resources motivating average players whilst others a great with top players, massive egos and top resources.

That’s the point, Wilder is seen (like Warnock) as a top class lower league manager, so he’ll be guaranteed top jobs at league 1 and league 2 level. However at PL (and even Championship level, remember it’s still early) he’s an unknown quantity.

In the olden days clubs would take punts (calculated risks) on lower division talent
But now the PL is so rich that clubs are scared to take any risks and managers are now judged on relevant experience based on their cv.

Also there’s the recent trend of Chairman appointing first team coaches, not managers.
It’s the foreign style where the coach just coaches the team and there’s a committee (including the Chairman) that buys the players.

Wilder likes full control of a club and in many PL clubs that’s just not going to happen.

Unfortunately not. Over the last 6 seasons, last season (76) was second only to 2014/15 (79) in terms of points required for the play-offs, based on the premise that one point more than the team in 7th would ensure qualification. The fewest points required for the playoffs has been 69 (in 2012/13 Bolton finished 7th on 68 points). Based on that, another 40 points from our remaining 30 games should see us in the playoffs and another 53 will see us promoted.

Yeah bastard ripoff club. I bet they used the Blades Twitter account to help get Trump elected and fix Brexit.

Probably nothing at all to do with the fact that he has a quiet week what with there being no game at the weekend.

I enjoy your sarcasm, and to be honest i was looking for a bite. My comment was "tongue-in-cheek" really - I'm not saying it's the sole reason, but listening to CW last night was inspiring so it helps to inspire fans to get down and buy a ticket IMO.

Wasn't he on Soccer Saturday on SSN last international break, talking about League One. Had a tie on and stuff.

If the recent interview with Prince Abdullah is anything to go by, I think there is a recognition that the club can't go backwards having come this far. I think the resources will be in place to keep us competitive because they have to be.

I'd think our owners are fully aware of what Tufty thinks and don't need an interview on RS to find out about it.

To be honest that has a slight grain of truth in it, mainly because if we don't go up as well as Wilder being approached we will do well to keep the likes of JOC, Fleck, Brooks and the increasingly impressive Stevens away from Premier League interest.

I doubt the Pig who posted it gave any thought to what you've just said.

Wilder is like any other human being.

If someone offers to double his money he’ll be off.

Not necessarily. When you are very comfortable financially already things like being happy where you are become very important. I’ve seen many people in my career come a major cropper through chasing a few extra quid that they don’t really need.

snap. but not sure im aware of anyone that's turned it down due to the risk of becoming a cropper.

As Balham Blade said, 80 points were needed for the PO's last season, but it was the highest level required to finish sixth in at least ten years. However this season is very poor in comparison. Wednesday said so...
