Thats exactly what it was

Wisely he was careful with his words regards speculation because there are so many unknown variables.
Our owners could fall on hard times and change policy wanting to cash in selling off anyone who gets a large bid.
They might settle for staying in the Championship and not support Wilder in the JTW.
Wilder might then realise that he’s unlikely to achieve promotion with United so then he’ll consider offers.
This is the truth but he’s hardly going to admit it because many have a 2+2=5 logic.
What ever he says will be twisted negatively and some fans will worry and panic about nothing.

So invariably the best option is to say as little as possible.

Ron Atkinson, the old Wednesday manager got caught out in the early 90’s.
He was quoted as saying he loves it and is so happy at SW and would never leave for another club.

Then a few weeks later a very embarrassed Atkinson had to back track because he abandoned Wednesday and left for Aston Villa. Atkinson said that Villa is his boyhood club that he always dreamt of managing them so couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Can't see Wilder going to Villa though misen.

Can anyone put it on here?

The twats at the BBC want you to register to listen to a public broadcasting service that I've bought a licence for.

UTTER UTTER TWATS.
Yeh, I discovered that the other week. Can't sign in on my phone at all as it keeps telling me it doesn't recognise my email address, even though I can sign in on my laptop with it with no problem whatsoever.

For the thousandth time, PL clubs would rather have some fucker like Claude Puel than a decent English championship manager. No one's going to trebling his money in the near future because, looking down from the PL, he's won fuck all. He's got the Blades promoted, big deal, we shouldn't be in L1. Kenny Jackett got Wolves promoted and got off to a good start in the championship. He's at Portsmouth now. Grayson got Leeds up etc. Winning L1, however stylishly, and getting off to a good start in the championship doesn't get a manager a PL job in this day and age.

I think you're right, history is full of managers and players that have been great at some clubs and crap at others. Don't know why though, obviously something must just click at certain clubs. CW seems to have had a great managerial career so far

Lets put it this way shall we.
There is much more chance of Wilder managing in the Premier League with United, than with any other club.
End of story
Wilders success over the seasons has come from man managing players who he can relate to / get on with. Players on wages that are below average / realistic salaries. Very similar to his own playing day salary.
When you manage Premier League players, their salaries are off the radar as to what he is used to dealing with.
IF he were to be ever poached by a Premier club, it would be when he had some experience - in the Premiership, with United.
IF that day ever comes, he could / would, go with my blessing. Until then, he will remain our manager.
Anybody think any of these teams are bigger than United:
Burnley
Swansea
Brighton
Bournemouth
Palace
Stoke
WBA
Watford
Huddersfield
Southampton
Theres 10 clubs there who I think we are (potentially) bigger than.
He is better off where he is. Take us up, get some 'Premiership experience' and the sky may well be the limit for him, and rightfully so.
I just cant imagine him leaving us and taking over any of the above 10 teams.
He has something going at United, we know it, and I think he does too.

Stoke
WBA
Southampton

are all on a par with us since you asked

Refuse to register on principle, that's what my licence is for.

View attachment 32919 This is my recent favourite post, they have a 190 page thread about us following on from a 500 page thread the 2 previous years after getting in the playoffs twice and we are the obsessed ones! Wonder if the the guy can spell irony?

My favourite poster has to be Sij he was one of the main tub thumpers telling everyone we would get relegated.

The lads done over 44000 posts so he doesn't have much of a life to be fair

Radio player app mate.
Feck ginving them any of my privacy data.

Having just had a look at that thread, I'd say they are struggling to get their shots on target. On the one hand, Wilder's bound to walk into a Prem job imminently. On the other, he's a pisshead who doesn't even have a proper Sheffield accent. Overall, its more melty than a tuna melt.

Firstly, forget Tufty's managing the Blades, and forget that my tail's curly.

In my opinion, any British manager who turns down the PL is making a big mistake.

I said exactly the same when Carlos was courted by the PL 18 months ago. I knew he'd dropped one, and he has.

In that profession you're a hostage to fortune, and if you get a firm chance of managing at that level you grasp it...especially if you're British.

Great part when he speaks about Bassett. I think of all the clubs Harry has managed we are the one he's most fond of.

As Chris said a few times we are a very special club.

There's a huge risk involved in any manager taking a prem job for just the money a lot fail to factor in . The current lifespan of a prem manager is under 12 months . Wilder doesn't know if he can handle playérs on 60 k a week with bigger egos than him . Managers now in the prem seem to get bullied by player power if his face doesn't fit he'd put his entire career at risk . Leaving us just now would destroy his loyalty card and willingness to see a job through. A move just for cash could be career suicide. Here getting us up gives him prem foòtball in an envirenvironmenrt where he's top man ,hes not guaranteed that luxury going any where else.
I'm pretty certain Chris knows that too and that's what I read into it. If we fail to go up .yes he might go but I doubt very much he'd risk missing an obvious opportunity for more glory with us .plus it's another notch on his cv

"Whenever their has been interest in Carlos he has shot it down and said things like not interested in money, happy here, speculation etc all the things you wana hear.

Chris Wilder didnt sound convincing and people bang on about his passion and kissing the badge and all that.

We are lucky to have Carlos believe me."

lmao, I reckon we are also lucky you have Carlos :D

Please please Keep Carlos . Don't ever let him go

Well, there's a career risk, but no financial risk. Anyone signing a 3 or 4 year deal at a PL club will never have to work again when that contract is over or it is terminated: the money is that good.

This is what United and other clubs are dealing with when they try to hang onto the Calvert-Lewins and Brookses of this world. You can be set for life if you take a move early.

Of course, money isn't everything, and many people want to work despite having the financial means not to do so.

I would be very surprised if Wilder went anywhere before the end of the season, but I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

Wouldn't pay too much attention to these types on programs, you'll not learn anything worthwhile. Wilder won't give the game away and I must say I don't blame him. You don't know whos listening

Wednesday fans have concluded that he's leaving. They really are surpassing themselves this season. I think they're slowly going mad

https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/257252-official-swfc-football-heaven-thread-2017-18/?page=88

They get mixed up between what's a prediction and what those desperate twats hope will happen. Here's another in The Grand Lexicon of Excuses:

If the Blades are going to do it, it'll have to be this season.

Next season it will be much tougher.

How is that possible? La Liga was going to be the toughest league in the world this year - one that would see us get 'found out' and finish with less points than Rotherham! Fuck me! 2018-19 sounds awesome! Next season certainly will be tougher for the pigs if they don't go up. The 3 years season ticket bribe will be over. How many will 'pay on the gate' at £40+ to £50+? Their overpaid players will be even older and, hopefully, Chancer's blatant attempts to circumvent FFP will be found out.
Wilder is like any other human being.

If someone offers to double his money he’ll be off.

But what is 'any other human being'? Like Redknapp and Allardyce i.e. conmen? Like the majority of managers? Harking back to fleeting success and hope it masks the other 90% of abject failure? Don't worry, CW will have seen bigger managers than himself very recently being booed and hounded out of their jobs like Bilic, Koeman and (shortly) Pulis and Conte. CW has plenty of time left. Why would he go to Burnley (about to be reined in by the PL) or Everton?

Money isn't everything. There's no pockets in a shroud.

You obviously don’t know Wilder.
It’s NOT just about money, there are other factors, he’s not a mercenary and doesn’t like mercenary type players.

As Wilder often says about players with high potential.
If you’re as good as you think you are then the fortune will come after the achievement.

At the moment Wilder will think he can double/ treble his current salary by staying here.
He’ll already be a great money so is hardly a pauper.
If the board don’t support him by selling off Brooks for example, then there’s a chance he’ll leave.
He wants PL football with us but if he’s not backed then he’ll look for it elsewhere.

Another important issue is that for a PL club Wilders cv is shockingly bad, no relevant experience what so ever, never managed ego’s, never managed foreigners, never managed high paid players, never had massive media attention. He’d be a massive risk, piSs off their fan base, so I can’t see any half decent PL club wanting him., why would a PL club with millions enabling them to afford the best go for a untested novice with neglible experience of playing or managing in the top flight.
With regard to your final paragraph why would he piss off the fan base "Oh I hate winning football matches ,can we go back to those 0-0 draws
much preferred the previous regime with all that endeavour "
There were sceptics when we signed Sir Chris are they sceptical now ?
I suspect not .

Great part when he speaks about Bassett. I think of all the clubs Harry has managed we are the one he's most fond of.

As Chris said a few times we are a very special club.

Yet he stressed that he doesn’t follow DD’s methods. He once again emphasised that we play, and will continue to play, proper football. “We’re not a direct team”. A quote that sent chills around the S2 hinterland.

That’s the most important thing he said but it goes unmentioned on here because we hope he doesn’t mean it.

Tuftyball - football played the right way. Hoofers in despair planning a coup and the return of Owd Muckanettles.

Apart from I don't think anyone was bothered about hanging onto Calvert-Lewin.

Save for the odd chance of seeing his bird at a match.
