Mystic brownie ’s OP got 3 likes at the time, Sothall_Blade, sitwell and Silent Blade, well done them!

Yeah but that was Sep 2013 and I posted this in May 2013:-

Personally, I quite admire a manager who is willing to start at the bottom and work his way up.
Our most successful recent managers have both done that too (I.e. Bassett and Warnock)
I'd rather have someone with nearly 600 games under his belt than a rookie like Speed or Morgan.

I don't know enough about Oxford to know why they appear to have stalled at 9th in recent years.
Is that because their manager is no good or are they overachieving at 9th?
The fact their Chairman has extended Wilder's contract suggests the latter.

Wilder wouldn't be the worst option being mentioned in my opinion.

When I said "not the worst option" I did of course mean "the best possible option who would do an absolutely fantastic job for us"

I've been a blades fan for 30 years, never having posted on the board though. I won't say how I can say, but trust me, Oxford Uniteds Chris Wilder will be our next manager.
He has a house local, and has known for a while that his contract won't be renewed at Oxford, so has been looking at other options. He is blades through and through, whilst also being a good coach.

Watch this space.

Who was the mysterious "William Leave" who persistently said that Chris Wilder would be our next manager (albeit three years too early)?
Come and take a bow Mr Leave

It's threads like this that makes me glad we have the new Haha reaction..

Well done brownie - many doubted you
I’m nervous of the ha ha emoji. I’ve assumed it’s the equivalent of replying with PMSL or similar but I’m worried it might be interpreted as being sarcastic.

And what’s ‘angry’ about? If a post makes you angry, either ignore it or engage with the poster and explain why. Don’t just post a fucking red face and leave it at that, it’s like your missus throwing a strop and every time you say ‘what’s up’ she says ‘nothing’.

I wasn’t enamoured with the suggestion at the time (thanks for reminding me!) and still wasn’t when he eventually did come in!

hindsight is a wonderful thing

in 2013 Wilder was just getting the hang of being a manager
he served his apprenticeship at the bottom and has learnt immensely how to make diamonds from dead lumps of carbon

has he peaked,,,, I would think not as hes got the ability to adapt to different surroundings, as we continued to improve over all 3 seasons

Ignore this, I posted on the wrong thread
Slavan Bilic now favourite to take over according to our friends over at Sky

09:55

BREAKING NEWS
Slaven Bilic is West Brom first choice to take over as Head Coach, according to Sky sources.
The former West Ham manager was interviewed for the role last night, and impressed Albion’s bosses.
He’s now jumped ahead of Chris Hughton, Chris Wilder and Bruno Labbadia in the running for the job, but both sides have yet to agree on wages, and it’s thought Bilic currently wants more money than Albion are willing to pay.

Except Wilder is not even in the running. Media bullshit.

I had a great deal of knowledge. I knew of his record and had seen his mediocre Oxford team on multiple occasions. They played turgid football, nothing remotely like we see now. The first seeds of the wonderful Tuftyball now delighting (most of) us were sown at Northampton. My mistake was to give insufficient weight to the most recent evidence. I said all this three years ago.

I’m genuinely delighted everyone can have a laugh at my expense on this one. It reminds me that my team are playing superb football and, to coin a phrase ‘we are Premier League...’

Just a word of caution. Watch the Hoofers, Knee-Jerkers and Jellybabies turn on Tufty when we’re losing a lot more games next season. When he leaves, watch them call for a replacement who will bring back grotesque anti-football. They are still missing it and pining for it to return to it’s spiritual home in S2. The first Gerritinearly is only an all too brief Summer away.
You haven’t got that much faith in CW really have you?
If we avoid relegation next year the celebration will exceed the promotion party fourth from bottom will be a result.
