10 clean sheets in the past 13 and not one of the back 6 get in?

Surely they should have separated full backs and centre backs. It's a bit insulting that by not choosing between James and Aarans, they only allow space for one centre half.

And I know it is only one game, but if anyone thinks Cooper is better than O'Connell, they want their head examining.

Although even the peerless Benjamin Bloom had Jansson highly rated and he looked a right donkey. Maybe they just performed better against others.

Presumably this team is compiled by a group of observers who see all the teams play on a regular basis and therefore have a very good knowledge of who the top performing players are?

In which case I think it’s a pretty good shout tbh. I’ve been impressed with all those players when I’ve seen them this season.

I think this is also done for pure entertainment and to provoke football fans into discussion: like: “ Why that one of theirs and not this one of ours?!?”
Because they know fans won’t be able to resist such bait. So it’s working very well already isn’t it?

Better than average piece, well worth anyone's time to take a few moments and see exactly why Wilder is both pragmatist and innovator. Here's hoping he wind the award..........no mention of Steve Basham though, disappointing.

Boro and us have the best defensive records, respectively. Neither gets a defender in the team of the season. Meh. Can't pretend to watch enough of other teams to know better but that seems wrong on the face of it.

Wilder should be a given but well done anyway.

Funnily enough, there is no comparable thread on Porktalk.

I imagine there won’t be an overload on there, praising the fact that 25% of the line up is ours.

Almost 24 hours later and still nothing that I can find, they’ll claim not to have seen the coverage, even though Adam Reach is up for the season and Inimagine that might have mermeated even the thickest S6 skull.
