Apart from everything else, yet another fantastic straight-to-the-point interview from Wilder.

Strikes me he's not 100% happy with the budget he's working within, but he's getting on with it, not complaining & making the very best of the situation. Just like there's no excuses about injuries or whatever. Things are as they are.

As he says, we're hardly a million miles away from being that top of the table side we were at Burton a month ago.

Get Leonard in & the major difficulty's sorted.

Finding a buyer for Sheffield United is easy, please pass on any investors name and details to our co owners who are holding us back
Plenty of other clubs have found rich buyers - many of them with far less potential than us - and have enjoyed much more success than us as a result. McCabe clings onto power and puts off potential buyers. As I said before , he’s overseen the worst period in our history - but hey, there’s no bigger Blade than Kev.

As you and a few others have pointed out why do people continue to believe the crap thats put out by Radio Pig and the Pig stirrer newspaper. United Blade has posted the interview link, I recommend people listen to it.

CW didn't say what Giddings has tweeted. Shields even goes further and provides a laughable tweet that CW confirmed the accuracy of the Stirs article yesterday. That'll be the one that said a premiership club had bid £10 million.

This was the conversation below;

" Can you confirm there has been interest in Brooks this week" - Giddings
" There are a lot of off the record conversations with people agents and clubs asking if players are available. Yes I've had a conversation nothing changes with David from my point of view he's not for sale. I've made it loud and clear he's not for sale." - CW
" Everyone has a ceiling though" - Giddings
" That isn't decided by me as far as I am concerned he's not for sale. IF ANYBODY MAKES A BID IT WILL GO THROUGH TO THE CHIEF EXEC AND CHAIRMAN. " - CW. In other words no fkin bid has been received just a regular enquiry.

On incomings/outgoings

" If you get everything you want ideal world scenario how many additions would you like over the course of the month " Giddings

" Few will go out that haven't been involved in the first team this year. Part of my job is to make sure we get a good return for those players. We're possibly 1/2 midfield players short and a few more in a couple of positions. We're possibly looking at 4 players in if everybody stays. 4 players possibly going out on loan or permanent" - CW - Loans and permanent was a reference to players going out!!

This unnecessary shit storm is primarily down to Giddings but the Stir has once again misrepresented the facts. The Club really need to act and ban them both from the Club for a period so that they learn how to report facts not fiction.

For the few remaining Blades on here supporting both organisations give your head a shake.

How ironic that you post about ‘facts and fiction’ and ‘misrepresenting the facts’ while doing exactly that.

So no names or details, just more anti McCabe waffle, sell to anyone Kev,just to shut idiots like this

Let's go get us a Fish Tycoon!! That's been proven to work.

I'd sooner have a tight fisted Blade than some cash-happy fucker with no concept of the heritage of our club.

But I accept that some fans happy to sacrifice much for more money to buy success.

There are very few owners I’d put below McCabe - but fair play, the piggy dolphin killer is one. No way would I want our tradition and heritage harmed - but I don’t think you have to go down that road to get a new owner.

It's hard enough to find someone to throw their money away at a football club without being fussy about their motives.

I took a wheelbarrow full of cash in as tribute to Kev in this morning. There were hundreds of others doing the same. He was stood watching us in the window wearing a solid gold top hat, a huge gold chain with a diamond £ sign, smoking a huge Cuban cigar holding a gun to Wilders dogs head.
really ?

To be honest, if a club came in and offered £10 million for Brooks, I'd take it. I'd rather not sell him but if we replaced him with someone good, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
But we never do reinvest though do we....when tell me when...

That guy got everything spot on in Pre Season it has to be said. I hope he's wrong but if not then I would love to know what's changed.
Wilder knew his budget before Coutts injury ,he said as much in an interview. Can't see the club leaving Wilder out to dry.
It is possible of course that he and the board had two scenarios depending on league position which would make sense as bringing in expensive players would inflate the wage bill which Wilder Doasnt want to do.
I think he ( Wilder ) has a good relationship with the owners and they would be stupid to risk losing him by pulling the rug beneath his feet. There is a plan in ...place which Wilder had a big say in putting together.Wilder wants to take us too the promised land but will not put the clubs future in jepeody, let's stay together whether we get promotion this season or not.
We're all blades arnt we ! A ! ! !

Let's hope there's no one with your viewpoint on the Board then mate - because that would be the most stupid thing in the world to do in my opinion.

I'm not against selling players - not at all. I think we need to do that as a club - just like 99% of other clubs do. Bringing in players for not a lot of money, developing them and selling them on is a way of running the business effectively. But there are two golden rules here:

1 You sell when a player's stock is at its highest
2 You make sure that you don't weaken the team overall as a result of the sale

In Brook's case, to sell him now for £10M would break both those rules imo.

If they are unwilling or unable to invest they should sell up. We have fallen behind many clubs much smaller than us simply because they have more financial backing. McCabe has overseen the worst period in our entire history and all indications are that him and the Prince are happy to see us continue to plod along.

I think "worst period in our entire history" is a bit strong mate.

The season leading up to our relegation to the old fourth division was much worse. These are Salad Days compared to that.

I take your point about "smaller" clubs, but they have been above us in terms of league position for a long time, whilst we've been languishing in the money pit that is League 1 for the last six years. So we are starting from a big disadvantage IMHO.

And in this interview, CW clearly says Brooks has been sold for £500k, to the Pigs, the board give him indianburns if he doesn't say to the press what they want and the dressing room is split. Except of course he doesn't.

As a gullible daft cunt I'm really interested in this site but the link doesn't appear to be working - are you sure what you've described is accurate ?
Difficult to believe that Wilder hasn't resigned as a consequence particularly given the recent dog/ cigar / revolver incident

Totally totally disagree. On both counts.

Lookman can’t get in the Everton side for DCL. The same DCL who couldn’t get a game for us.

Brooks goal against Millwall was an absolute touch of class, his feet are dazzling and he is a little genius. Has it all. Would be a travesty to let him go.

Fixed that for you.

As (I think) TomJonesBlade said on another thread t'other day...its not as simple as selling him for £Xm in January. How do you replace him?
How do you avoid paying over the odds?
Who is realistically available in January?
Who would realistically be as good as or better for the money gained? No one.

To sell him, and at a time of a significantly depleted midfield would show a significant lack of ambition.

Whereabouts is this stall Chris has set out,is it in Fargate, does it stock Peroni?

It's a risk to keep him if he wants to go, but he seems settled to me and hasn't even become a regular yet. Based on how good Brooks is, I just can't see him not improving. And I can't see us getting relegated. As for the comparison with Walker, I think that does prove my point. Not £60m but he'd only played 8 games for us and we cashed in and then said he wanted to leave what can we do!?!?!?! Well, we had his registration and he'd only just broke into the side, just like Brooks has. When Maguire went as a comparison, he's played for 3 seasons and there could be no argument that it was time for his career to move. We got a reasonable fee for him, but not great.

I actually think we got good money for them bearing in mind Kyle was nearly 10 years ago and I don’t think there are many (non forwards) that go for 3mill from a team that had been in league 1 for 3 years.

In an ideal world you keep your best players and players with potential but its not a level playing field and it’s unrealistic to think we’ll not listen/consider bids north of 15mill - as every club in our position would/will (and even most that are financially a lot better off).

I - and thousands more- DO have a right to insist on investment from our owners. I'm not calling on them to threaten the future of our club, but surely they can see that we will not get a better chance of returning to the PL

They ARE investing by making up the losses every year that are caused by our existing wages. At a last estimate McCabe had put £50-£60m in and the Prince about £10-12m.

Presumably you have 'RIGHT' to demand more though?

Plenty of other clubs have found rich buyers

Yup, worked out well for
Blackburn
DirtyLeeds
Wendy
Cardiff

Please remember we are not a Man City on the verge of success before the UAE billions. We are a Championship club from a Northern city that most Chinese and Arabs will never have heard of. We really are not at the front of the queue for the next £1 billion investment.

From Henry Winter's article for the Times (23/9/17) https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...ub-with-no-need-for-foreign-players-wn88dkm8z

So what of the future? Will his [Kevin McCabe's] sons carry it on? “Look, Simon lives
in Beaconsfield, works out of London. Scott lives two hours away. The
answer is I don’t think so. It will be their decision. I’ve got
(co-owner) Prince Abdullah, nice guy, he’s beginning to understand.
The family still owns the real estate because I don’t want: a), for us
to play in blue and white, and b), to move away from Bramall Lane, at
least in my lifetime. Whoever actually takes over, I want them to have
a real feel for what Sheffield United’s about: foundations deep in the
community.”

Travis Binnion on Brooks: “You might be at City and then gone because some Mexican comes in. We got Brooksy (David Brooks) out of City at 17, wow, technically
different class. He didn’t want to win the ball back at City, but we
look at what he might be, we persevere. He got player of the
tournament at Toulon (with England this summer). Hopefully we can keep
him. But there will be a price. It will be a good chunk of money for
us".

I don’t see why there is so much negativity to the board before anything’s even happened... and don’t give me the because history tells me this or that... it balls.

Over the last 6/7 years I can’t think of Many examples of where we’ve actually been ‘that club’ with ‘that money grabber’ that people talk about? Every sale has probably been justifiable given the circumstances?

And why do people this it would be different with someone else in charge?

I guarantee if you have an owner that doesn’t have the club at heart Brooks would be sold if we got a 20mill offer.

What people want is investment without any consequences - which doesn’t happen (look down the road) they’ve had the investment and are being priced out.

The grass ain’t always greener.
