I spoke to a pig today and he said he'd have him back in a flash!
I know they couldn't score in a brothel but coming from a sour pig that's high praise

I see Clough's quoted as already looking at extending it till the end of the season. Presumably dependent on:
- how Brighton are fairing come the last week of January
- how COG has enjoyed the initial loan spell

You would hope that if we're successful he might be won over a bit and want to stay to the end of the season. As I recall, Brayford was initially reluctant to consider the drop down to us but did it as a favour to Clough, and stayed on till the end of the season because he warmed to the place.

Apparently the reason he had to leave the pigs was falling out with Manderbitch when he scored he winner against us. He ran to Megson to celebrate already knowing he had been sacked ,and was soon out of the loop.

Some people need to have a serious think here and put some perspective on things.Porter or COG? It's a no brainer and well done to the club on this,i'm more than happy personally.

You mean they'll be vying for the striker on the bench spot? Bit of a nonsense comparison that mate, Porter never plays.

It's all about the formation now, will Cloughie grow a pair and use his loan (lone?) striker, or will he stick with his stifling tactics. We signed a striker, get the fucker used.

Yes, but the choice wasn't "Porter or O'Grady". We already had Porter. The choice was O'Grady or any other striker who might be available.

I'm seeing people on Twitter saying that signing this non-scoring striker is somehow promotion in the bag. These comments leave me dumbfounded. O'Grady is average and people's excitement over him really is confusing. I can only think that it must be because we've been promised a striker for so long and we've finally got one.

O'Grady certainly isn't a statement of intent. Not the sort of statement I wanted us to make, anyway.

And before anybody makes another hilarious comment about Aguero or similar not being available, don't bother. The striker quality scale doesn't go "O'Halloran - Porter - O'Grady - Aguero". If you don't think there is a level of ability in between O'Grady and Aguero, you really don't understand football.

Here's your answer

Looking forward to seeing Baxter play in his best position behind O'Grady.

...I hope.

Not much hatred for him considering he is an ex pig ex dingle who scored winning goals against us

How time have changed

Had we missed out on COG then in guessing you'd have been one if the first to slate the club.

He's exactly the type we need, a bulldozer to bully centre halfs, to free up our midfielders. Centre backs have had it too easy against us. He's proved last season he can finish, ideal focus point for our midfield.

I'm sorry, I don't possess an extensive list of all available footballers. Oddly, it's not my job to sign players either. I doubt Chris O'Grady was the best available though.

Off the top of my head, theres a Welsh lad on a free at the moment who would have cost a fair bit less, I reckon. Better goals per games ratio as well, and still young enough to improve.

Where is the big name statement of intent Doyle said we were going for anyway? The one that will make the rest of the division sit up and take notice.

Do you spend as much time on the shits message board as you do ours? You appear to have a bank of pictures of them, and you bring them into most discussions on here which is odd.

I prefer your psychotic rantings at Judge, complete nonsense but funny nonetheless.

You aren't very good at guessing then, are you? Why would I slate the club for not signing a player I don't rate?

Like any striker a lot depends on those around him and Nigel thinks we have the right people around him to make this work, and that's good enough for me ....

UTB....

Totally agree. For us it's a case of debt free 3rd division club with mega rich Prince on board signing a 3rd division striker, now if that's not ambition I don't know what is

I think we'll win the league now and it's not just the signing of O'Grady but also the return of our other two strikers.

Ifs buts and maybes but I recon we'd be top now if Higgo and McNulty hadn't suffered simultaneous knackery.

Between the three of them we've got mobility, pace, battering ram, poacher. Horses for all courses.

Hmmm can't decide whether Nigel will play him left wing or leave him on the bench?

Grass is always greener on the other side... PNE fans seemed gutted about missing out on O'Grady and a few of our fans are slating him (already)

After last seasons cup run and this season so far i still cant understand the negativity. How i see it Clough has now openly said COG was his number one target. The board have eventuallly given him his number one target and promised more funds in january. I know its not been exciting football even when we win but i trust Cloughy and at the end of the day we are winning (and drawing) even when we are not dominating the game. That to me is very positive. UTB.
