The academy develop the young players and they are passed through to the U-21s where Morgan is the manager therefore Morgan has nothing to do with their early development. Not so long ago Morgan was told that by a previous management of the club he had to play the way the academy players had been taught otherwise he would be moved from his U-21 role. I think we see now see the results of the Morgan's conversion which is probably why now he maybe in a little more demand.OK Morgs first and foremost was a stopper he is doing all his badgers so must have serious ambitions to be a top coach.Being a top footballer doesn't mean you will be a top coach.Anybody who watch,s the under 21s will tell you they play really good football with good technical ability ,the Birmingham game was a treat to watch.Hopefully all our coaches are singing from the same hymn sheet and Morgan his playing his part,he is a winner and if he can instill that in the young players all the better.
I was at the inaugural meeting of BIFA and no such vote was held.Straw Man Alert 1 - I think Arsenal are great example of how the game can be played
Straw Man Alert 2 - In an inaugural meeting of BIFA, I was one of about 3 people in a crowd of about 300 who voted for Bassett to be replaced.
The rest of your post is built on the same nonsense, so there's no point dissecting it.

Do really think Pinchy suffers from Downs Syndrome?Ooh a closet pig as well as a ****
Oh yes it was. It was a show of hands in the city hall.I was at the inaugural meeting of BIFA and no such vote was held.
nchyThe beautiful game, S2 style....
Forget pass and move. Gerritforrard.
I can't imagine why clubs are not fighting in the Lane car park to secure the services of old Muckanettles or, indeed, why Dinosaur Dave is unemployable except when we feel the need to embarrass ourselves in the course of an interview process.
Adkins is a football man. His four promotion winning teams all played the game properly. He should have like thinking people around him, not be required to have a relic of a bygone age foisted on him simply because he's called Morgs and the least sophisticated fans in the world like him.
Does anyone seriously think NA would employ Morgan if he wasn't already here?.... Why would he? Nobody else wants to.
Incidentally, we played our best football of the season for half an hour on Saturday. It was pass and move all the way. Proper football; the sort successful teams play. For those of you who prefer pub league stuff, it's available every Sunday morning at a recreation ground near you.
Your memory is better than mine then. The stand out moment of the meeting was Kaz saying the only way to get rid of Brearley was to torch him out of his property!Oh yes it was. It was a show of hands in the city hall.

Dear Pinchy...you are one of the worst WUMS' I have ever had the misfortune to read. Do us all a favour pal and slink off back to piggsboro or what other stinking cesspit you inhabit...get a wash and for the love of god.......hand back the keyboard to the poor bastard who actually has to care for you
It was one of the first things that happened. It was just to clarify that the aim of the organisation would be to target Brealey. I was also of the opinion that Bassetts time was up.Your memory is better than mine then. The stand out moment of the meeting was Kaz saying the only way to get rid of Brearley was to torch him out of his property!

I have a feeling Morgan will be back at the Lane sometime in the future - good luck to him (except against us). Meantime what's the odds Brian Deane gets a crack at the u/21's?
I am usually broadly in agreement with you but I'm not sure Harris is the best example. Harris was good (great even) at spotting and bringing forward talent but even he recognised that you had to adjust styles according to the ability of the players you had available and what would work against the opposition - there were marked differences in his fifties, sixties and seventies sides and there had to be given the club's penchant for cashing in on its best players. The best managers are pragmatists more than purists in my opinion. This is a three wheels on my second-hand wagon season for Adkins and it is playing to our own strengths not some second hand blueprint that will make a difference. The idea of Basham playing tippy-tappy (actually it would be tippy because his first pass would go into touch) is scary. He has the touch of an elephant at the moment.
I was there too, with my late father and my son (the only match the three of us went to together). I disagree - thought the Huddersfield and Wolves play-off finals were more one-sided games (although they weren't 2-1 I know). In football success breeds success because success gets you money and success and money can get you class players. Much as I love and have loved the class ball players over the last 50 odd years, Sheffield United are not going to have the likes of Platini etc playing for us anytime soon whilst we are rooted in this division. I sense in some of the things you say that you would rather not win if we can't win aesthetically. I take the view of gradual improvement and winning ugly when we have to to reach the next level and progress. A bit functionalist I know but for me what matters is what works.
Bit harsh pinchy but for the best all round, I agree.
For all his heroic qualities he has been an ever present skeleton at the famine.
Who'll take over the U21s? Will we advertise it, will Adkins get to bring someone in, or will we promote from within? May I suggest Brian Deane?

Tell us a couple of names pinchers because i'm interested as to who could take over this role, i personally think it will be someone from inside the club but i'm all ears to suggestions.I did think of suggesting a few candidates who were not Bladey Blades but, knowing the vast majority of our fans will simply not be able to compute such a notion
Me and about 3 others Pinchy. It was.......uncomfortable.I didn't join until two or three meetings down the line. I'm pleased that you exercised an independent view rather than following the party line on Bassett. I have no doubt that if Bifa's founding father had his way, Bassett would still be in charge to this day.....
Whether it's tippy tally or up and at em football, every team needs a Chris Morgan in it. It's what we need right now and it's no coincidence that our decline started when Morgs got injured.
There is also the perception that because of the way Morgs is/ played that he coaches football in the same way and his methods are prehistoric. This couldn't be further from the truth. He is a talented man who commands respect and shows immense loyalty to the people around him. He is ambitious enough but after the Weir episode will have realised that United just can't afford to hand the reins to a rookie again. He will have his day in management soon and who knows?
Good luck Morgs
Thanks for the memories
You too are entitled to your opinion which also isn't gospel. I happen to think you will be proved wrong. Each to they're own.Pious preaching mate. You're entitled to your opinion but it's not gospel simply because you say it.
He won't have his day as a manager anytime soon. Some lower league club would have offered him a job by now were that the case.
He isn't a talented coach. He was appointed to save money. His "Nowt Fancy - Like Bassett" philosophy is that of a dinosaur. It has no place in modern football (S2 excepted of course) and hasn't for decades. It is an acutely embarrassing statement and I hope it helped the board to realise that old Muckanettles has no place in a progressive coaching team committed to playing the game in the right way. "Like Bassett" could not be further away from that aim.
Morgan stumbled into coaching. He has torn up not a single tree. If he had, it would have been noticed at lesser clubs looking for a manager of promise. He has none. He is a relic of a past from which we desperately need to move on. His departure is as welcome as it is overdue.
Now let's avoid the "Deano" nonsense and let NA bring in his own choice, not steeped in Bladey Bladeness but rather in good football.
Thank you for your efforts as a player, Chris. You were a limited but wholehearted defender and a good leader. Coach or Manager you are not, as time will assuredly tell. No amount of sanctimonious bleating will imbue you with ability you haven't got. I wish you no harm but you were perfectly well rewarded for your service to our club, including a coaching appointment you didn't earn. I'm delighted you're leaving.
It always makes me cringe when I hear apparently intelligent people quote teams like Barcelona and Arsenal, as examples, conveniently forgetting they've got players from all over the world getting more than our teams wages combined...
Where in the third division for crying out loud, and I think it was all this trying to change our style of play that got us here..
You can't get a team of players who can play this kind of football on the cheap, we may drop lucky for the odd player or two but there's no way we can hold on to them.
Sorry but it's all pie in the sky...
We did 7 years ago. We've been in the third division for 5 years. The worst spell in the club's history. That's an uncomfortable fact in S2.Why not reach out for better? Is it really such an uncomfortable thought in S2?
