I do think relying on someone who has never really played football for the past 5 1/2 years is a significant risk.

he’s started about 90 games since Jan 2019. He’d be looking to start about half of that in the next year to make it worth while.

OK might not worth a gamble with injury record but another looks like wilder missed. Like what's been we piss about waiting for robbing peter to pay paul every club won't hang about like Peterborough and Plymouth.

Gone to Sunderland

Think there's better alternatives out there. Anselmo MacNulty, Jimmy Dunne, Ibane Mowat, etc.

I'd have thought Des might have had a foreign gem or 2 up his sleeve. Obviously been out of the game too long

Think the Pejmon and his nerds will intervene. Mepham reminds me of a Blackwell signing, circa 2009/2010. Big wages, no resale, but limited but he’s a good lad, so it’s alreyt.
The brains behind the 11 million on Cannon which was led by them? Brought the two lads on the final day one of who hasn't got on any side the other not ripping it up in the u21s while being one of the older players?

Wilder gets more right than he gets wrong. That's why we haven't finished lower than play offs in 6 years now!

He's hardly the dominant leader needed to play alongside anel or Robinson so then we would have three centre backs who need to play alongside a souttar or a holding type

Maybe wilder could bring a specialist in who can fix this impossible conundrum for him ,he doesn't seem to be able to see the wood for the trees

He has decent stats but he doesn't start as many games as you'd expect, which seems odd for a CB. Not the worse signing if he was a back-up but I'd be surprised if he'd sign on that basis.

Doesn’t strike me as a signing that’d be made through data analysis…
We're not going to make all our signings through the data analysis approach.

Others like Dunne and hopefully Mepham will be signed due to availability and the right deal as a whole.

Because O'Nien is apparently better with the ball, like most modern centre halfs.
Isn't O'Nien their Captain as well, or is that Dan Neil?

That, and he's played in their last 2 matches at Wembley so he's got that experience.

Not sure if he's their captain, don't think he is because they were debating about playing Mepham instead on their forum before the play off final. But most agreed O'Nein was the better ball player despite not being very tall for a centre half.

He was being kept out by O'Nein who is apparently better with the ball despite not being very tall for a centre half.
