well thats weird. just been had ago at by paddy kenny on social media as he got wrong end of the stick. i was slagging off blackwell. saying how paddy got stabbed in the back by blackwell in private & then blackwell played victim in public

& he's read wrong way. thought i was having ago at him

Decided not to go as money is tight and it's saved me a 3rd of the cost of my ticket for Bristol City at home in the playoffs, but honestly sort of regretting that choice reading all the comments on here. Sounds like it was a cracking afternoon. Fair play to all involved (even Bracknall, who looked like he took it all in good spirit).

Hoping there'll be some video highlights etc put out by the club soon.
Same. My daughter was begging me to go...mainly cos of you tube stars but also she wanted to see Bash.

But I was in same boat as you.

To be fair a lot felt like that because when he first came it was as a midfielder. The move to wingback / back three and our style of play transformed him in to one of the most important players in that fantastic team and a player capable of playing in the Premier League. The other aspects you mention we all agree with. He's a top and genuine bloke who deserved everything he achieved and we were lucky to have for so long.
Absolutely. We came up with a role for him that rolled all his qualities into one new position instead of him suffering the utility player's problem of playing three or four positions and none of them very well.

Plus he did it alongside the rise of Coutts from being a player no one liked, Freeman that was transfer listed. We'd got Fleck on a free and Coventry weren't sad to see him go after finishing near the bottom. O'Connel was an unknown. Wilder looked like a "just bring in anyone who'll take this cursed job".

Then we started the season looking beyond shit. Being 3-0 down to I think Southend after fifteen minutes.

So many things came together to take us on that rise. You see a few big characters made now and then but I've never seen so many do what the likes of Basham did all at once.

Doesn't take a lot to upset him on there, especially if you disagree with his 'politics'.

His legs are painfully thin compared to what they were and he doesnt look comfortable running. Really sad that one accident can result in such a drastic transformation to someones life.

Especially sad when you consider just what a machine Bash was, in terms of general fitness. Obviously most footballers are as fit as a fiddle, but I always thought he stood out in that respect.

Even before his new role you always knew Bash would put in 100% effort even when we were shite. I once had a chat with the owner of the gym in the North East where Bash went, said he was the fittest person he'd ever known.
Even though it wasn't always easy on the eye, Bash was the epitome of a player you want in your club.

As someone who doesnt live in the city I would like to ask If the shirts worn at the Bash game are up for Sale ? great opportunity to raise extra cash for a worthy cause ? opportunity missed if not utb

Anyone know what happend with jack O'Connell.

Has he fell out with the club over medical care or other reason.
Just thought he should have been there

Wonder if he watched his Mrs in the Manchester derby (if they are still together).

I think it might have been her first start after having a long injury lay off.

I guess if he doesnt want to kick a ball (or cant anymore), does he watch his Mrs or come to Bashs game to just sit and watch and not really play a big part.

Just a thought id had and i guess then, its each to there owns decision.

Looked a fantastic day. Gutted to miss out.

I know it couldn't be help but it was just a shame it was on that day. Day after a home match and a play of campaign game ahead. Also a few players missing due to the POs.
