He's been the only RB this season for us that actually successfully anticipates a pass and intercepts it. Seriki, Clarke and Gilchrist always seem to let the pass be received and then hassle to get it back. He's also rather decent in the air and keeps going all match long. I like him me.

If we’re still in the Champ next season, I would be in favour of signing him with the expectation that he’ll be a fairly regular starter, even if he’s not an automatic first choice in either position.

If we’re in the Prem I’d be less sure about signing him, but even in the Prem there would be some merit in having him in the squad as a utility player in the same role Osborn used to fulfil.

Yeah I think he’s been decent and he’s very very good at the defensive aspects of the game. He’s not great going forward but that doesn’t necessarily need to be a problem, if we get players together next season who compliment each other then Chowdhury would be someone I’d want to bring in permanently.

Before you all crown him defender of the year remember he got absolutely bullied in the air by Junior Firpo for one of their goals so suspect his aerial ability is also in doubt.
Apologies to the nation of Bangladesh but I don’t think you should be paying out £85k per week on many defenders unless they are Van Dyke/Robertson levels and for a utility defender we can get better and cheaper elsewhere

Think he might cost too much going forwards.

I am a fan btw, think he’s done a good job overall for us but not sure on the value.

He plays short sideways passes, won't carry the ball. If he gets more ambitious than that, he loses it. Great energy, Great commitment, superb defender. Just zero impact going the other way
It given he’s often got Rak-Sakyi in front of him who often doesn’t defend, isn’t that what you require to complement him?

No. How do you get the ball to your best players if 3 of your 4 defenders only pass to each other? You're making it extremely difficult for yourself if one of your full backs can't attack

Aye
Just you
😉
Time will tell . Wound me up at Plymouth , as he ambled back from midfield with two of their players waiting to receive the ball on the edge of our box . To my mind , in the same situation , Souza would have bust a gut to get back , and probably have made it .

You need balance in your team. If you want your fullback to be bombing on, then you need someone to cover them. Having a winger who doesn’t track back is just going to leave you exposed down that flank.

Didn't say anything about bombing on though. You have to be able to get the ball forward accurately, start attacks from deep as well as joining in to attack. He can't do that and it hurts the attacking side even more when the 2 regular CBs struggle with that too

It’s a good job we signed him given the fitness shit show that is our right back position. Luckily he’s versatile and has slotted in where needed.

We used to have a right full back that would 'Bomb On' and then get back to cover. He was fxckin' dynamite.

Fan club must be growing. At Stoke suddenly had two songs.

That Zombie song likely nicked from Burnley, which isn't right for him, needs to be for a dickhead type player.

Also a rehash of the Mcatee song, which is loads better.

Hamza Choudhury's loan move to Sheffield United from Leicester City is not a straight loan; it includes an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2024–25 season. This was confirmed by Sheffield United at the time of his signing in January 2025 . While the specific fee associated with the option to buy has not been publicly disclosed, the inclusion of this clause suggests that the Blades are considering a long-term role for Choudhury beyond his initial loan spell .Sheffield UnitedThe72 - Football League News

In the McAtee rehash version, who is it that we don't care about? I couldn't make it out from the telly but both cats said it was Iliman and they've got better ears than me. Have we stopped caring about Iliman so soon?
