I really like him. He feels like a good version of Osborn, a bit of a Swiss Army man. Thought he was excellent at right back against Cardiff.

He plays short sideways passes, won't carry the ball. If he gets more ambitious than that, he loses it. Great energy, Great commitment, superb defender. Just zero impact going the other way
I think its a little harsh.

His role when in midfield is to sit deep and act as a first line of defence, Norwood played a similar role but he had less defensive capability and more pingability. Choudhury is there to win the ball and give it to the ball carriers such as Seriki/ Burrows/ Peck / Hamer/ O'Hare / Brewster/ JRS/ Davies/ BBD

Souza plays a similar role, but when he's alongside Peck(earlier in the season at least), they were alternating who was sitting deeper, which made it a little more dynamic. Whereas with Choudhury, you know he's going to sit deep. Sometimes too deep, for me at least

I'm not doubting his defensive capability or his defensive tactical awareness. But there are times when he needs to either carry the ball forward or pick a more difficult pass and it's just not something he can do. Souza has quite quick feet and is more willing to take risks with forward passes.

With his athletic ability and defensive awareness, if he has even 10% more technical ability, I think he's a regular in the PL

He got forward well v Cardiff but was obviously bit busier with Anthony

Like i said hardly a black hole
Offers more than gilchrist did

Not sure we can afford his wages if we are a Championship club next season.

Leicester might want to play him at this level or if not they would prefer him not going to a Championship rival. Could see him going abroad, Turkey or Saudi.

He's played several incisive through balls breaking the lines since he's been here. I wish he'd do it more.

I guess it's fair that he could do that if the situation arises, but not sure that's been his role as he generally offloads to others.

I don't think it's necessarily a lack of ability more a restriction of his role

Gilchrist, awkward as he was, could get down the line and try to get involved. Choudhury is a lot more comfortable passing it inside. That would be fine if either CB could syart attacks but we struggle. So it's all on Burrows to progress the ball from deep.

He's also had games where he's given it away 5 or 6 times in the first 20 minutes. High level passing just isn't his strength. He's not shit, superb defender. But you need excellent progressive passers next to him and we just don't have them

I do think it's ability, because if he could do it then he'd be playing higher up the leagues on a regular basis

Thats not exclusive to Choudhury though. Each player has limitations. For me, he has a specific role, he plays it well and perhaps yes, could do more but what he does do he tends to do well. He also has the versatility to play Defensive Mid as well as RB, which has been useful because Gilchrist, Clarke and Seriki have not all been fit and also have their limitations. In the middle, we've been down to Choudhury and Peck sometimes with Souza, Blaster and Davies all being injured.

Is Choudhury currently the best Defensive Midfielder that we have? No, i don't think so, I think Souza and Peck offer more in that role, but Choudhury has been a more than adequate player

Doesn't matter what Leicester want, with the option to buy him (same with BBD and Southampton) it's our choice and we're in control right now.

If we want him permanent, we activate the option for the agreed price (agreed in January when we signed him on loan), he becomes our player and Leicester don't get a say in it, not unless we decide not to activate the option to buy, at which point he would return to Leicester as their player.

Not sure how long we have to decide on whether or not we activate the option to buy or not, but I imagine it will be after the end of both clubs seasons in late May.

In games where we’re expecting the opposition to have more of the ball, I’d say he’s probably 1st choice right back at the minute. Has a fabulous defensive reading of the game - always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Strong in the tackle, good covering player & has an engine on him.

In games where we’re expecting to attack more, I’d rather Wilder played there. I personally hope we don’t see him in midfield again unless we play him in a 3 & push Souza / Peck a bit further forward. That would require a bit of invention though so can’t see it happening any time soon.

Would be quite happy if we brought him in permanently.

100%. Just think he's a very one direction player

I think he's got better as time's gone on.

Not sold on him in midfield because he drops too deep, too often and plays a pass that the centre back could have done himself but I think he's been the best we've had at right back ahead of Gilchrist, Seriki or Clarke.

Basically fulfilling the role that we originally signed Shackleton to do but does it better.
