Chess fitness ?

Incidentally the number of possible moves in a game of chess is 10 to the power of 120 or 1 novemtrigintillion. It has been estimated that there in fact at least as many possible permutations of moves as there are atoms in the observable universe.

This forum is currently in the process of trying to top that number with the amount of threads about Ched sodding Evans....

You sound like the hitchicker's guide to the galaxy.

In fact you're a bit like that robot, Marvin.

Just an observation.

Just for you, SandyMcBlade - I don't ever remember Chedwyn being pacey. He was strong and could outmuscle opponents, but wasn't that quick.

What I see now is someone with ability but zero match sharpness. It could be his body will never allow him to do what he once did, but I'd give it 6 months of football to decide.

He had a bit of pace. He was no Steve Kabba but was something like Lavery in terms of pace with more strength and ability. He’s got slower for sure. But he showed decent strength at times Saturday holding the ball up. Don’t think he’ll ever be the player he was but if he can use his strength and his powerful shot to good effect then who knows, he could make a useful contribution.

10 minutes gone, no chance to edit title, that's it. No hope of this thread being about Ched's fitness now.

I'll try to Chedify it a bit. Just seen this Tweet...

What a filthy scumbag.

Moved on from feeding seagulls chips though.

Watching him Saturday you can just tell that there's a player in there, trying to get out - his first touch can be quality, and his touch in the corner was decent as the (failed :D) OP said.

A few observations:
  • We seem to be playing a lot more long ball up to Ched in the snippets he's been on, more than he ever received first time and more than he's capable of really. It's a little ironic that in the best passing team for many years, he's not getting much in to feet.
  • He's not looking match sharp yet, he's just not in his old positions, or the spots Sharp gets to. He's not getting many shots off as a result.
  • He doesn't drive at defences like before, not yet anyway. There was a point on the right flank in the second half that he had the chance to run his man, but hesitated, cut back and played a simple pass into midfield. The old Ched would've been rampaging towards goal. I do think his confidence is slightly shot.
  • Most of all, he looked shagged after 10 minutes of coming on! We were waiting for a corner and he was crouched down near the penalty spot.

Where's it opened?
Are the PT's fit?
Is there a pool?
Is a monthly membership possible?
Do I have to be a triangle?

The lad is injured going for a scan at Thornbury hospital asap original injury that he had at Chesterfield think he maybeout for a while. Dropping like flies Lavery out too!!
I was at Thornbury last week re a dodgy Rotator cuff. They told me they were up to their armpits in scans and the next available slot was late September. Ched better not be nicking my appointment  UTB

He'll have gone private, seems like a nice chap why not ask him if it's bogof ..

I read somewhere that he actually did go private, at his own expense, last season and found that the ankle injury had been misdiagnosed at Chesterfield. Got to wonder how he passed his medical here if it's the same injury playing up again.
