bloody hell, please not another ched evens thread!

The day certainly shouldn't be about him. I would imagine that Chesterfield will already be relegated by then and probably will play a weakened team to avoid injuries for certain players they are likely to sell.

That said it will be interesting what reception he will get should he play when his name gets called out. At the end he will probably go straight down the tunnel, though I don't think it would be inappropriate for him to thank/acknowledge us in some way.

Waving him off to the depths of league two whilst we go up to the league we would've been in if he didn't sleep around is a nice full stop to the whole saga i guess.

I think his form this season, and injury record, and our goalscoring record and unity show that it was 100% the right thing not to sign him

Fuck ched

Absolute tosspot who didn't give us a second thought when he derailed our promotion and although I'm glad he cleared his name he's still a sleazy prick who I didnt want near our squad and couldn't care less what happens to him now
How did he derail our promotion? Use some logic.

Since he signed for Chezzy, eyes have been on the two fixtures against them.

The last time he was on the Bramall Lane pitch he scored a late goal to put United 3-1 up and all but secure us a place in the Championship.

Five years and two weeks later, he'll be back and it's highly likely that it will be a party for the home fans whilst the away team will be sunk to the fourth tier.

Is he likely to be mobbed and put in a Blades shirt or will he want to escape down the tunnel quickly?

Either way, it'll be an odd day for Ched Evans.
About to get promoted and you start a thread about a thread about a sexual preditor who had one good season in three for us about half a decade ago.

Can we move this to the twats thread Linz ?

When we played Chesterfield at their place, he was applauded off the pitch by more chanting Blades than Chessie fans, so I don't think he will get a bad reception, no matter what

Not interesting for me. Totally irrelevant.

No doubt some of the obsessives will still want to sing his name for no apparent reason.

I'll have used up my acknowledgement of 'real' former legends at Port Vale.

Our fans won't make it all about him. They didn't at Chesterfield, they won't this time.

Just hearing one chant for him would be annoying considering we haven't even got one for the likes of JO'C, Basham, Fleck or Duffy.

The question was whether he derailed our promotion campaign, not his guilt/innocence.

Even the most harden Ched fan boy should be able to acknowledge that it did derail our promotion bid

Of course 'it' did derail our promotion bid. But 'he' didn't. In fact he was highly responsible for leading the promotion bid in the first place. If his lawyers had done a more thorough job collecting evidence things might have been very different...

Accusing/blaming Ched for how it affected us is pretty much victim blaming, which is quite wrong.

But 'it' was caused by 'his' idiocy.

So if I drive 59.99 miles an hour in a 60 zone and get done for speeding, but fresh evidence (which my original lawyers didn't collect) later clear me, did I cause all the problems? I would have done nothing legally wrong. That's pretty much what you're saying.

No doubt his behavior was inappropriate and stupid by the way, but 'it' was caused by other people's mistakes. You can't blame him for the fallout.

But it's stupid and inappropriate behaviour that opens the floodgates. I say this as somebody who was staunchly convinced that he wasn't guilty of the horrible crime he was accused of.

That doesn't however absolve personal responsibility.

You don't get jailed for being an idiot. Otherwise Burnley wouldn't have been promoted a couple of seasons back when they had Joey Barton at the centre of their midfield.

Some of the key fresh evidence didn't come about until after he was convicted, because the persons in question didn't come forward until then.

Apologies to introduce some facts into this debate.

If he hadn't been up on a charge he'd wouldn't have been here beyond August, January at the latest.

Therefore it's all irrelevant now.

Most of us have moved on, even Ched himself.

Bizarre a few of our fans don't seem to be able to. Makes you wonder why.

Blimey, I never intended on upsetting folk or creating arguments.

Just asked a question on how odd it will be for him and if he'd be more likely to acknowledge fans or just shoot down the tunnel.

Didn't offer my opinion or insult our fans, just asked a question which some people seem to have taken personally.

Calm down, the Blades are going up!

I see what you're saying Tyler, however it doesn't sit right with me blaming Ched for the fact that we didn't go up, its victim blaming which is why I commented on it Davalon.

If this hadn't happened we would have got at least 500k for him and have 20k off the wage bill which might have been put to very good use. The system failed us and him.

Highbury, why were these people not approached before he was convicted? Seems rather complacent really. Also recall there being someone who was interviewed but wasn't used in the first trial, and the lawyer failed to ask the relevant question regarding section 41. What an error, don't see how Ched can be blamed for his conviction.

Don't need Mr Evans anywhere near BDTBL

We're only going up when we put a Blades shirt on Ched

Indeed you don't get jailed for being an idiot, but being an idiot can get you jailed.

Is he still planning on taking United to court for loss or earnings?

He is nobodies heros, well maybe he is to Mrs Fat Family and one or two other deranged lunatics on Twitter, but not to the rest of us.
