I suspect that you are crediting her with too much intelligence.

I think i am as well :)

But since we're assuming she has no knowledge of the legal system, then it's also plausible that she made it up just to see how far she could run with it.

Oh come on....

It hardly takes Einstein to work out that if I want to make a false allegation of rape in order to get some money out of a rich bloke I have just had sex with, the first thing I need to say is "I refused consent but he forced me to have it".

Seriously, anyone who really believes the "she made it up to make money" line is clearly impervious to rationality.

Just to play Devil's advocate. If she had said "I refused consent and they went ahead anyway", how would that square with her promptly falling asleep for 6 hours, then going home, then going to work and much later deciding to go to the police?

If she was sober and conscious enough to refuse consent, clearly she would have been expected to raise the alarm as soon as Evans had left. However, saying "I can't remember" does tie more neatly in with her waking at 10:00 and trying to work out what had happened to her.

It's not uncommon for women to feel all sorts of emotions after being raped that deter them going to the police (fear, shame, traumatised, a belief she won't be believed etc etc). It wouldn't be at all unusual for her to have made a late report of a refusal of consent rape.

And in addition the fact that she didn't go to the police straightaway rather undermines the idea that she was lying to make money as, if she was doing that, that would have called the police asap.

how come in the heywood grooming trial a couple of the defendants were convicted of grooming underage girls and raping them and got five and four years??

Whilst I don't imagine she is a particularly virtuous young lady, I don't think she made the allegation in order to make money.

After all, if you maintain throughout that you have no recollection of the nights events, you can hardly sell the details of said events without leaving yourself open to an allegation of perjury?

And lets face it,' Went out got shit faced and woke up in the Premier Inn' isn't going to sell many papers.

I love the girl who will
I love the girl who won't
I hate the girl who says she will..
and then she says she won't

The girl I like the best of all-
And I guess you'll say I'm right.
Is the one who says she never does...
but she looks as though she might!
