Rickey.....Herbert......Cynthia, whatever you choose to call yourself. As for commenting on my piece about how Blades treat one another, please read it in detail. Not once did I suggest that a poster should passively accept a hostile approach and not comment. Your post #312 didn't begin with a pleasantry, it began by telling me not to put myself in the same bracket as yourself. What bracket would that be Herb? A bracket that supports books? Or was it a clearly defined bracket suggesting that you are so much better, possibly superior? As for Barney, I love this mutual admiration society you two seem to have created where backslapping each other's posts follows as naturally as night follows day? Is it that your hunger for 'likes', and that in Barney you've found the perfect attention seeking dullard to fill up your 'like' card?

I may have a hope that Blades won't sink to clearly demonstrable levels of hostilities towards one another, and I include you and Barney in that, but please don't confuse that wish with another quality I have, where posters such as yourself, who, having taken a step up, feel they're equipped to interpret the posts of other Blades correctly. I am of course referring to my post about Blades treating one another with a little respect. If you'd read it thoroughly you'd have noted I commented on my own fallibility, rather than suggest to other Blades that they aren't in the same bracket as myself. By saying I'm not in the same bracket as yourself you seem to think that you're a cut above myself, a strange assertion given that you know so little about me, but hey ho, if it serves your purpose then yes, you, dear Herb, are so much better, in fact you're about as unique as anyone could be. Does that help Herb? I've made a public proclamation saying as much, can't get much better than that can it bud?

If you can step down from your bracket for a moment, consider what I'm saying, and then decide that it's preferable to be less attritional, then you'll find that makes for a better, more helpful exchange of posts. On the other hand, if you choose to write selectively, take comments out of context, then I'll respond in kind. Over to you big fella, what's it to be? A little wisdom and conciliation on your part, or more of the same tired sabre rattling, where put-downs with the support of your own Ernie, in the guise of Barney, to your own Eric, that manages to maintain the same familiar, but very tired, routine.
Get help.

Less words than I expected to be fair.

There was nothing resembling hostility from me. Your inference that we're both clueless was provocative. In asking you not to place me in the same bracket I'm not being hostile, I'm not claiming superiority, I'm suggesting that you shouldn't automatically put me in the same category as yourself - doing so is more presumptuous than anything I've posted. Your self-effacing is no shield to what I deem to be a disrespectful comment towards me. The first genuinely hostile (and patronising - obviously) comment, surprise surprise, came from you in post 314. You flew off the handle in an unnecessary and ridiculous manner that makes an absolute mockery of your thread asking for respect.
Or does anything go in Ched threads? Is that the rule?

If likes 'against' you upset you so much that thread last week must have absolutely killed you!

'Taken a step up'? What the hell are you talking about?

Don't preach to me when you're the instigator.

A little advice, don't get so hung up on the use of a word like patronising. Apart from an incorrect interpretation, you also suggest that my post 314 was where I flew off the handle. Clearly, you aren't familiar with what that term really means.........anyway I reached out Herb, I suggested that there might be a preferable and alternative way to communicate, but your addiction to an attritional exchange seems to be your preferred route. A pity, but there you go, some posters just can't seem to accept that there's more to life than having a Barney (apologies, couldn't help it). As for this nonsense about 'likes' against me, I really couldn't give a toss who likes or dislikes my posts.

I'll leave you to practice your Rev. Paisley speeches, but don't say that one of us didn't make an effort to play nice.....we could have been so much nicer if only you'd tried to be a bit more reasonable. I suppose that's what you refer to as instigating an argument, oh well, at least I now understand a little more about you.

Painting yourself as the saint..... again. I'm shocked. You won't fool me or anyone else who's familiar with your posts.

Ricky/Herb, this could so easily be construed a neurosis, I'm certainly no saint, in fact the very suggestion is one of those notions that is meaningless, but perhaps you haven't properly thought this through, so summoning up terms that you think might cause hurt actually adds to this silliness you confuse with joined-up thinking. Again, my post where I suggested that Blades adopt a more reasoned approach to one another. I mentioned in that post (second time I'm having to tell you this) that I'm far from being faultless, just a pity that you can't adopt a similar approach when it comes to examining yourself. You must stop this nonsense thinking that I'm trying to fool anyone, it does little other than to suggest you think too much about posters like myself. Cut yourself some slack Herb, spend less time on the forum, it could be a contributory factor as to why you see problems where none exist.

So you admit you're not faultless but refuse to admit responsibility when you are the one at fault for instigating a pointless argument... now that's not very reasonable is it? You need to consider taking your own advice.

Rest assured I don't think about you very much at all. I don't need to. I've known what you're about for ages.

Suggesting less time on the forum is quite funny coming from someone who averages at least five 1000 word essays per day.

Again, you're confusing my own understanding of myself with knowing when blame should be attached. It was your description of fault on this thread that you've clung onto, I've had no need to agree with you, why should I when your assertion is untrue and misleading?

For someone who pays no attention to me, it's more than coincidence that you've managed to work out how much wordage I seem to write? Curious that one Herb, wouldn't you say? I recommended you spend less time on the forum simply because you seem to be confusing fact with your own fiction. Now, be a good lad, stop writing, otherwise I might think you've nothing better to do. There, less than a thousand words on my part.

Can we all be friends now? Reading this is just like when my kids fall out, they are 10 & 7.

FFS I agree with you Bruce

Do we really need people arguing, calling each other names and behaving like cunts. I would suggest that the majority of posters on this forum are sick of it

Take your egotistical. Unwanted clap trap elsewhere and do us all a favour.

I'm not confusing anything, old boy. People can judge for themselves just how 'untrue and misleading' my assertion is.

There's a difference between paying close attention and noticing things that smack you in the face on a regular basis. Such as your long winded posts.

Read carefully - do you read books? Any problems with 'long winded' paragraphs? Or do you just skip anything over 500 words? These are genuine questions. Whether you recognise this, or fail to see the relevance, it's a forum, it comprises of different people with different writing styles. I guess you'll have to get used to the idea that you don't have editorial control on the forum.

I've noticed a couple of posters who've commented on our exchange, so whatever the rights and wrongs, I'm going to bring my contribution to this particular exchange to a close. I may not agree with some of the comments left by the posters, but I see little reason to continue this, so you can either decide to fill your boots and write to your heart's content, or be responsive to the posts I've mentioned and stop writing.

I agree with everything being said. But don't include me in this. If provoked, I'll argue - just like most of you would.

what on earth must other clubs less skilled Roygbiv 's make of our Christmas tiffs as we sit 2nd - it's not fair to give them such gems for their own view from editions or is everyone playing to the gallery to get into Cobblers to you and Bury the hatchet or whatever their forums are called.

Maybe the Evans compulsive's can finally accept that their poster boy has nailed his colours elsewhere?

It's been clear to many of us that there'd be no last minute appearance of this one season wonder, thumping the badge and telling us how he always knew his return was about the dozy phrase "unfinished business". Bye bye Ched, it's reassuring to know our manager doesn't see you as the answer to.....well, just about anything.

13 pages was not unexpected, but this thread should now follow all other superfluous threads that flattered to deceive to the poster's graveyard.
