They still went on to win at Burgon when they could easily have crumbled.

A lot of wishful thinking in this thread.
Coutts is the battery in the watch as someone once said and he is going to be immensely difficult to replace.
We don't currently have anyone who can play the same way and the impact is likely to be significant.
The transfer window is going to be key but even then we've probably got around 8 or so games until we get there, plus a new player potentially needing a little time to settle in.
Probably a miracle too far for Wilder this time.

Fuck me,talk about spineless and running up the white flag, let's hope the players and management don't adopt this lily livered woe is me attitude
I don't think they're going to stop trying or run up a white flag and I'll not think Lundstram is spineless just because he can't play like Coutts.

This is where the number of experienced players should play a role. Many will have seen this all before, and some will have been the injured player. I think the issue will be be how we adapt tactically as a team, cause whoever plays won't have his first touch. This is where the sports psychologist side of Mr Wilder (or whoever they use) gets the rest of the squad’s heads straight & focused.
you're missing the point we won't play the same wayA lot of wishful thinking in this thread.

There is no right moment to lose one of your better players but a month or so before the transfer window isn't the worst. It's certainly not like the Evans situation where we had 3 games left, no replacement at all and no chance of getting anybody in.
No.

Easy to allow the injury to Coutts to get to them unless someone’s giving them the right things to focus on.
Will the devastating injury to Coutts cause us to fall away just like the Ched conviction did when we were going like a train in the 1st division a few years ago. I hope and pray it doesn't but have a feeling that it could and the similarity to the Evans situation is unreal, two players playing out of their skin and both taken away at the wrong moment. I will get behind Coutts replacement 100% and wish whoever it is all the best in filling the gap left by the maestro.

25 thousand Blades will make up any difference.
If we all sing
For Coutts, we're gonna do you for Coutts, we're gonna do you for Coutts.
We can lift the players, management and ourselves to an even greater level.
Sing loud, sing proud.
One club, one mission, one dream.
Dream Positive. UTB

Never takes you long to get personal does it.
Wilder will have planned for this and I think we have players who might be able to step up, but in terms of natural ability, Coutts is the best player we have. It cannot be completely ignored and it will be a test for the whole team because of how we play.
Showing concern for his absence does not make someone a pig. Not showing a shred of concern because “Lundstram will sort it” is naive.

I see where you are coming from buddy but the difference this time around is that we’ve got time to take stock, and even recruit in a few weeks time and we’ve still got top midfield players in the squad. In the case of Evans, we’d not only lost him but his replacement, and there wasn’t enough time left to change things around. We need to trust Wilder to do the whatever’s needed and I’m sure he will. Will the devastating injury to Coutts cause us to fall away just like the Ched conviction did when we were going like a train in the 1st division a few years ago.
