Che Adams

The manager wasn't playing him?

I've dealt with this upthread. Wilder managed Adams for the grand total of one league game. He did not start that game - which I am sure was on the instructions of those negotiating his sale, or even at Birmingham's request - and he came on anyway. He did play him.

I think that it is a certainty that after our start to the season Adams would not be in the first XI now.

Wilder didn't start him because he knew he was leaving. It's obvious.

We played five league games when Che was here. How many did he start? So no, he wasn't playing him. Maybe he was benched because of a possible sale, maybe Adams couldn't be arsed, maybe Wilder had seen how poor he was end of last season.

My point still stands though. If he was worth £3m someone would have paid it.

What are you talking about? Adams was sold after one league game. He left 2 days after the Bolton game.

Apologies, you are of course correct and I was utterly wrong about the number of games.

Yet something like 11 games in the Championship made Kyle Walker worth a lot more in real terms. Forget what he is worth and focus on what the market will pay. The fact he is young and English means he is worth more, has represented his country. All adds up.

Then take into account the gap he leaves. Finally and most importantly have we reolaced him with someone better?
Kyle walker played really well, in a higher league. That was a player I was sad to see leave.

The market only paid £1.5 mil did we turn down higher offers?

What gap, someone that doesn't play very well but scores 11 goals? I reckon that feat will be equaled this season.

The fact is the lad has potential but when you are in the the third division hemarraging money, you can't afford to gamble over a million pounds on potential

You forgot to add that they weren't good enough for our 1st team and you would rather us turn down over 1 million.

Using your logic if a club offered 2 million for Long and 2 million for Reid then you'd accuse the club of bad business taking 4 million to sell their your talent.

Wish people could live in the real world. We need instant promotion not gambling on young players with potential that night or might not be excellent players in 2 or 3 years.

For every Kyle Walker deal there are many more Jordan Slew deals.

Reread my post can't see where I said we should turn down a fee of any kind, merely stated my opinion that they moved on to better things. Actually I have no problem in selling any player as long as the money is reinvested wisely, i'll repeat that wisely buying players who can improve have a resale value no matter who the manager has been we aren't very good at that, Adams and Murphy aside. As for the "instant promotion" if you actually think the current squad can achieve that I would certainly like half a pint of what you are drinking, but it's all about opinions.

If not, why not? He's turning into a more useful player now and more consistent.

There’s talk around clayhead country that he might be on his way there in January, although that may depend on Garry Monk surviving until then.

After a decent first half of the season he’s been linked with a big money move to his hometown club Leicester City. Wonder if we have a sell on clause. Could this provide funds for an extra signing?

Probably

Probably not.

And yes we do have a sell on clause.

“We’ve been in control of negotiations though, we have been throughout. We believe we have got an excellent price and we’ve covered ourselves going forward if Che realises his potential.”

United, who had previously rejected offers worth £1.2m and £1.7m from City, have inserted a sell-on clause into the deal which sees Leicester-born Adams return to the Midlands.

Didn't realise that there was an appearance clause that landed us with Madine.

We could get a good return on this actually. It'll be a percentage of the profit and we sold him for, and nearly all of any fee Birmingham get will be profit.

Say they sell him for £10m, we could get 20% of £8m. In which case we'd roughly double our money on him.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was higher than 20% though given that the fee wasn't big.

If only Tyler was here to see the good news.......

Let's hope then that there isn't a time limit on the sell on clause then. Without anyone knowing exactly what the sell on clause is and what was stipulated, it's impossible to know what if anything we would potentially get. I hope it's an open ended 75% of all future fees to young Pobs previous club, but i doubt it will be.

If he doesn't get paid and ends up leaving on a free due to unpaid wages that would be just our luck.

Bet we get his hoverboard.

Means sweet FA money coming into this club. It will go with previous £millions that would always be made available at the NEXT window. Bit like the Bogroll prince being announced the day after the window closed.

Ah yes, but you don't understand. Next time it really will be made available...

He's got his attitude right now, looks in good shape and is bang on form, he's their main man at the blue noses.

This would be a very Leicester signing, snap them up when they're young, British and in form for a possible resale value but already useful right now.

I can see him, Gray and Maddison linking up well.

Birmingham won’t sell him as they can’t replace him as they are under a transfer embargo.
Never understood this part of the regulation.

I sell Che Adams for 10m and send 2m Sheffield United's way.

I'm 8m better off and 15k per week light on wages.

I can't spend a 500k fee and offer 10k per week wages on a replacement though?
