CONFIRMED Che Adams

I'm one of these revolutionary types who thinks you should keep your best young players AND add other good players to the squad. Obviously this crazy idea will never catch on, I mean if we did this we might get promoted or something daft like that.
Doubt it but I share your sentiments nonetheless.

Sheffield United under ‘no pressure’ to sell Che Adams - but he can leave if he asks

Well what a toss statement that is. Linky: http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...e-adams-but-he-can-leave-if-he-asks-1-8055885

Surely our headline/statement should be, you can all chuff off, he's our best youngster and he's not going anywhere (i.e. if there actually is a willingness to sell, don't outwardly state it and make others pay way over the odds).

If there's no pressure, then 1.5 million should be rejected out of hand.

Footballistically there is pressure to sell though, as quickly as possible. Financially we might not be under pressure to sell, but that's a different thing.

It is starting to feel like the Maguire deal where we rushed back to Hull saying "please buy".

If he wants to leave he can! it is like a call to clubs, "come and get him"
It could also mean, "he can go, but at the right price" (which so far, seems to be more than £1.5m)

I read it that CW is preparing the fans for a forthcoming sale announcement along then lines of "hes had his head turned by a championship club...what could we do.." in reality i think that they could have kept him if they so wished...i just dont think that they really want / wanted too as they prefer the money. As ive stated previously i believe that Wilder has already near as damn it agreed incoming deals...but the budget to do this pre Che sale isnt there. To me lets get it done and bring in some of what we still clearly need asap. Every game that goes by with us as a work.in progress means that we could be slipping further and further off the lead. Im sure Wildthing wants it all done quickly.

Have we ever issued a press release about a player which says "he's not for sale", or made a public comment to that effect?

The Pigs do this from time to time, as do other clubs. Sometimes they mean it, sometimes it's all part of the negotiation, but have we ever done it?

Don't suppose you know who the incomings are? Lol

Every player in the world is for sale if somebody comes up with enough money.

We've been a little more resolute than usual with this one, but I've got to say that my club just don't have any bollocks when it comes to the transfer market. None whatsoever - it's embarrassing.

the Murphy money

You can just imagine the conversation between the Birmingham chairman and Gary Rowett:-

Chairman - "Listen Gary we've hardly got any money for transfers this year"

Rowett - "well what the fuck do you expect me to achieve with no new players then"??

Chairman - "Anyone you fancy from Sheff United"??

Rowett - "Well I like that Che Adams, but won't he cost a fortune"??

Chairman - "watch and learn son. We offer a ridiculously low figure to start off with which they decline, add an extra hundred grand and bobs yer uncle. Piece of piss"

Rowett - "Ha ha that's a classic boss, no wonder they've been in league one for 5 years"

I'll be disappointed by this. I don't think he's good enough to start up front at the moment, but he's absolutely a better option than Done on the left-wing, as shown last season where he was particularly effective in taking opportunities that came to him after we'd attacked down the opposite flank. Given the opportunity I think he'd continue to improve...

If he does go today and the deal was more or less done on Saturday as some have said, why the hell would we risk him knowing that one bad tackle could scupper the deal and possibly feck up Wilder's recruitment plans?

It dunna make sense I tell ye!

Not this time, I've prepared a statement for Chris and faxed it over actually:

'We're sad to see Che go, the lad's got great potential, but we need player's at the club who are able to do the job here and now this season...here's three I've had waiting for this twatting deal to go through...50 page thread on S2...ffs...mumble....mumble....ffs...etc..etc...'

*that last bit might be off the record...

If we can get fees for Done and Scougall as well, and get a left winger, a centre-mid, a centre-back and a goalie with the fees (happy to take good quality loanees for one or any of those positions), we'll have done extremely well.

Can't see it, but we live in hope.

Perhaps there were things in the negotiations we weren't happy with.

Us using him on Saturday might have given Birmingham a little nudge to get on with things.

shame che adams leaving, but thats problem of being in lower league our best players will always be wanted by PL/Champ sides. im not saying he worth it, but considering the inflated transfer fees over last month where leeds paid 3m for roofe for L2 player. i hope we got at least 3m
